Weekend Wrap-Up
Not a whole lot went down this weekend! Tyler had a quick gig on Thursday night at the RA center with Disco Inferno, so I wanted some time out of the house.
Friday morning I decided that I wanted to do something that night. Since I was supposed to go to the Pembroke gig on Saturday night, but didn't end up going (and can't say I'm too sad I missed it from the sounds of it lol). So I texted Shannon pretty early in the day asking if she wanted to do something. Dinner/drinks, a VIP movie, ANYTHING. She said yes, so we extended the invite to a few other moms, but it was pretty last minute, so only her neighbour came along with us.
We headed to Lansdowne to go to Jack Astors. They were supposed to have $3 bar rails, $1/oz wine, $12 pitchers after 8:30 and 1/2 price apps after 9. Well, once we went all the way there, they informed us that as of Tuesday, there were no more promotions like that. Luckily after 9, the bar rails (1 drink with 1 oz of generic brand spirits), were $5. So we stayed, shared some apps, had a few drinks and left around 10:45. It was still fun to just get out with some like-minded people!
We went back to my place for a few more drinks, and Rod, Casey and Rylie were all there--Rod was getting ready to head out with his wife and brother&sister in law to Jamaica the next day, so it was nice to wish him bon voyage :) Everyone was gone, and we were in bed by midnight.
The kids luckily slept in a little bit (6:45), and we got up (Tyler slept in until 8 or so), made breakfast and played a bit. The boys left around 8:20 for his basketball lessons. He LOVED it again. So I imagine he will just love it until it's over lol. Unfortunately, there's no basketball courses you can do after this until they're 7-8 age range :(.
When they got home, we just tidied up a little bit, and lounged around. We ordered in Sushi for dinner. Garett ate SO much butterfish I thought he would barf, but nope, he just loves sushi lol. Keira had her first roll-but it was just crab and avocado. She loved it also. I bought her some Japanese fried rice with veggies and chicken, so she mostly just ate that :)
Tyler headed out to grab casey around 6:30 or something, and the kids went right to bed after their baths, no problems. I binged on the newest season of the bachelor , and it kept me up until after midnight. I got a little sleep, but tyler was texting me a lot about how horrible the place was and the crowd was lack lustre and crammed in like sardines. So I shut my notifications off around 1:45 and went to sleep. He got home from Pembroke around 3:45 I think.
The kids slept in again until 6:30 and we went downstairs to let tyler sleep. I made the kids breakfast, and we put on some cartoons as background noise, and we put together puzzles and coloured. Tyler woke around 9. I got ready and headed out for a big grocery store haul--I am worried about the ice storm coming, and possible power outages. Seemed like EVERYONE had that same idea. the superstore was almost shoulder to shoulder. A few people said "this is the busiest I have ever seen it".
I got home and unloaded all of the groceries/put them away just in time for Keira to go for her nap around 12:30. She slept for about 3 hours, so the boys built Kinex in the basement and I napped on the couch and watched some Teen Mom OG.
For dinner, we just made some rotini with tylers sauce and I threw it in a casserole with some cheese and made some garlic bread.
Kids were in bed early again, and up around 6:15 to start their week! If the weather is as crummy as they say, I will stay home with the kids tomorrow while tyler goes out in the tractor :) Don't need anyone being out and about if 10mm of ice falls from the sky.
It's going to be a crazy week getting everything together for the party on Saturday, and then I have to do more groceries for having people over on tylers birthday night. I'll be happy when the next two weeks are over, and I'm hoping smooth sailing until Easter LOL. I have ordered a little gift for Ty for valentines day (a giant ferraro Rocher, some tommy Hilfiger boxers, and a book by Kevin O'Leary on growing businesses). and already have the valentines cards to write up for gs school. I just have to go in and write down all the names for the kids, or ask for a name list from his teachers. Do people buy treats for teachers and ECE's for V-day? I feel no? Nut free-environment, or I would send boxes of chocolates, but one of the teachers is deathly allergic. So I guess I won't do anything for them lol. May pop by the dollar store and grab a bunch of pencils to stick his cards to.
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, and enjoy their Monday! Stay safe if you are out on the roads tomorrow! Happy Monday!

I'm not even thinking of Valentine's Day...you are always on the ball with events!! Good for you! I AM sorta trying to plan the kids birthdays in Feb...I know, you would have it all done by now!! LOL
ReplyDeleteProbably! But I know I'm a freak about it. Waiting too long to start planning for things gives me severe anxiety. It drives Tyler bonkers when boxes arrive in the mail, and it's for things in two months haha
