Recap City
I feel like all I do is recaps, lol how boring.
On Friday night, I quickly went home to change and took an Uber to The Standard on Elgin as a going away party for two girls that have left us. We had some cheap apps and beers and some drinks. I left around 11:30 and ubered home by midnight.
Tyler woke with the kids and I woke maybe 10 minutes later. We made some breakfast, ran some errands and did a whole lot of nothing for the morning.
Around 1:00, I got dressed and headed to the grocery store to pick up some stuff for dinners and lunches for the next few days. It was so cold, I couldn't handle doing a big trip and being outside for a second longer!
Tyler had sound check for his gig that night at 3:00, so he took Garett to watch and listen, and had some poutine. They played at The British (a hotel in Gatineau) that night for a few hours. It was a really short gig--he only left around 8, after the kids were in bed, and was home around 12:45.
For dinner, I had ordered in Lebanese meat, cheese zataar pies, some fattoush, and tabouli. for dinner, so we pigged out on that. And I took a bath once the kids were down for the night.
The next morning, on Sunday, Garett woke at 5:15 for some reason, and proceeded to KNOCK on the wall in his room to wake Keira up, because he "wanted to play with her". Well, he got his wish. She woke at 5:30 thanks to the knocking. So they played their hearts out until her nap at 11:30. She napped for over 3 hours, while the boys played in the basement and went to the store for a bit. I napped, and put away some laundry. Tyler worked that night--went in to work around 6 and came home around 3AM
Monday was not a good day. It took me over two hours to get to work because of the snow. I dropped both kids off so Tyler could get a few hours of sleep. My workday was good--I caught up on a lot of stuff and got some personal things done, but then it took me almost two hours to get home also!! GRRR. ONE car went into the ditch on a pretty clear highway. It took so long because people were all stopping to stare. There wasn't even a lane blocked off by service trucks, lol. I hate people :)
Luckily, Tyler had picked up both of the kids and made dinner, so when I got home around six, we ate some garlic chicken with some veggies and roasted potatoes. The kids ate some leftover bowtie pasta and some pizza since they were too hungry before it was finished cooking.
It was immediate baths and bed for the kids after that (LATE dinner for us), then Tyler and I each had a bath and watched three episodes of Parenthood before we went to bed :)
Yesterday morning was a bit better of a commute, but still about an hour. Booo, Makes me want to leave Orleans when this is turning into the norm for driving (on a good no-traffic day, it takes me 12 mins from my driveway to my work parking garage). Yesterday, Garett had his wellness checkup, and his next round of shots. He took them (one in each arm) like a champ, and I made some chicken pesto for dinner. I opened my package from Sportchek--I had ordered G some new pants and shirts, and I also ordered a new pair of sneakers for his basketball lessons that start on Saturday. I open the box to have him try them on, and they left the big huge black plastic security tag on the tongue of one of the shoes. I doubt I'll have time to get to the mall and have them remove it before his lesson, so we will just have a sad boy for one week, I imagine.
Today, daycare is closed since our provider is sick, so Tyler was home with keira for most of the day. He had an appointment with our insurance at noon, so my mother in law went by while she was napping. Garett starts his swimming lessons tonight, and it pretty excited. AND it was pizza day at school for him today, so I think it's a good day to be Garett lol. I ordered the last of the dresses I need for our trip in March, and now just have to get the little stuff (sunscreen and whatnot) :)
Now I go suffer through my last 1.5 hours of this workday with a massive headache. lol
