Ok, so here goes!
One of my best friends Shannon has been following her sister and friends blogs and decided to create one of her own. After reading hers, I have decided that maybe having some sort of outlet to rant/chat/ramble on would be a good way to clear my mind!

So, like Shan and many bloggers before, I will begin my first post by giving a brief description about myself!
My name is Amy Patenaude (Wood), born on September 25, 1986 in Kingston, ON. I grew up in Brockville, ON and have since moved to Ottawa, ON to pursue an education, love, a career and life! My roots are firmly grounded here now and with our soon to be move to Embrun we are within a fair distance of all family and friends! Life is good! But here I am getting ahead of myself!

As of around 2:40 on Saturday September 3, 2011, I officially became Mrs. Amy Wood. After many years of knowing and dating Tyler, he finally popped the question on Saturday November 27th, 2010. After a whirlwind 10 months of stressing over Stag&Doe's, Bachelorettes and Wedding details, we can finally breathe easy and begin our lives together. The day flew by, and for that, I am almost grateful! It is a nice memory to have but the future is what I am much more excited about :)

On Friday September 9, we signed the realtor papers on our new home! And tonight is the night we sign off on the mortgage! We are officially homeowners as of 5 pm tonight! :) However, the party cannot begin yet. The crazy people we are, decided to buy a nice home--but one that we could make money on--which means renovations. Some of these include: New well filtration systems from top to bottom, work on the septic, work on the furnace, new woodstove, ripping out the basement carpet and drywall and replacing it, new bathroom fixtures, removing wallpaper, some new flooring upstairs, new appliances, redoing the kitchen, new ceiling fixtures, tearing out a deck in the back, taking down and moving a pool, new shingles, and a lot of landscaping (yard, driveway, etc). There is a lot of work to be done, but with the help of family and friends it will all get done! We have our rental we have lived in for the last almost year and a half until November 1, so this gives us some time to do reno's and clean the old place and move! Our official closing date is September 23, so we have a bit of time to play with! Here is a picture of our new Embrun-ian home!
So with the way things have been going in our lives lately (fairly hectic), I am just enjoying the nothingness after work for now before the packing frenzy begins (can you say YARD SALE?)! Being back at work is almost as good as a vacation from my vacation :)

  1. Well that's annoying - I know what you mean about having trouble commenting!

Anyway - awesome blog :) Now we have somewhere to write about our day and what's happening in life. Can't wait to see the house in person and of course, the house warming party!!
