I cannot believe April is almost over!!! Time is going by way too fast and I don't know how to get it to slow down. I am happy that summer is around the corner and patio/BBQ weather has officially started and we started the yard and the major cleanup we want to do out there, but I'm not ready for months to be flying by like this.
Tyler's season is so busy this year but he's trying to find a day they can finish up early and come and tear up our driveway and front walk /steps. We're redoing it all this year in concrete (obviously) and I am so excited. The front of our house looks so crummy from the road because of the cracking asphalt and ugly fake cobble stone steps. I can't wait.
We didn't do too much this weekend. On Friday Ty came home fairly early and I had made a dinner of twice baked potatoes, vegetables and rice stir fry and some chicken. We sat down in the living room and each had a glass of wine, ate dinner and we watched this weeks episode of Greys ( which was pretty boring...I think the writers are losing their touch) and then took turns taking a hot bath (mine had bubbles and candles involved though lol). We were in bed pretty early since I had tuckered the baby out playing that day and we got a good nights sleep :)
Saturday we were up fairly early, had a big breakfast and then ty had band practise out in Kanata (we can't wait until this gig on Mother's Day is over so he doesn't have any more practises lol). While Ty was out, I watched the movie "Jeff, who lives at home" and was surprised by how much I liked it hahah. Jason Segel and Ed helms...it was a pretty dry/dark comedy which I usually don't enjoy but it was great!
Once Ty got home it was time to head out right away to my nail appointment. I was so happy to finally get my nails done right. I hate normal nails now after I had them done for so long. When I got pregnant I stopped going, just in case lol even though resin has no scent to it, I was just trying to be careful:) I didn't have any tips put on or anything, I just had her use my real nails because the length as perfect. I feel so much better! It's nice to be able to get my hair and nails done without worrying--yet another reason I'm not one of those people that miss being pregnant lolol.
After my nails I headed to the grocery store and got our groceries for the week. The nice weather makes it so much easier to eat healthy, I love it! Who wants to at heavy comfort meals when it's 25 degrees outside? No one. I always love fresh fruit, veggies and salads when it's warm out. Mmmmm.
When I came home, I put away all the stuff that needed to be frozen and refrigerated and we rushed out again because Ty wanted a little trailer to pull behind his tractor so we loaded the baby up and headed to Rona. They didn't have any there so we went by Dolly's house so Ty could borrow theirs and we ended up waiting for doll to get home from wedding dress shopping and then her and I visited while the boys chatted. We headed home after, I put Garett in his stroller and we walked around the yard a bit while Ty picked up some fallen branches and trimmed the apple trees. Once Garett was asleep in his stroller, I put the locks on the wheels and wrapped the lights around the tree trunk beside the patio...Tyler will have to fix this because I didn't do it the way I want it...It was hard because I'm not tall and couldn't get my arms around the tree lol.
We came in, ate dinner and watched the hockey game and went to bed.
Sunday was an early morning. Garett's baptism was set for 3:00 in a small town outside of Cornwall so we were busy from the time we got up to get us both showered and Garett bathed. I had to get his bag packed, his outfit ready, do my hair and makeup, clean up the house a bit, get dressed and ready for everyone meeting us here to head up together. We were ready way earlier than expected, so we watched "the informant!" with matt damon. good movie but i thought it as more of a comedy then a deeply intellectual comedy like it was haha..We got to the church a bit early still but father started early and we were done early :) Garett cooperated better than I expected considering he was pretty fussy all morning and was not happy to be in all that clothing lol
Afterwards we headed back to my parents place to visit and eat :) it was such a nice day!!
We got home around 7:30 or 8:00. We ate some leftover sandwiches and watched the hockey game and then went to bed. The baby slept almost 11 hours then woke up to hang out with me for like half an hour this morning, ate a bottle and is sleeping again lol. Family visits tire him right out! I love it haha. I'll let him sleep for a bit before I wake him up to tire him out again :)
I hope everyone had a great weekend too! Happy Monday :)
