What a busy weekend! I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend and enjoyed their family time/Easter!!!
Friday we headed to Cornwall in the afternoon after Ty went and signed some more contracts for our Easter dinner there. Mom made a big meal and we stayed until about 8:30 and headed home. We had a really good time :)
Saturday we relaxed during the day and did some cleaning/laundry. We headed out around 4 and left Garett with Peggy and Terry (my first time leaving him! :( ) and headed to Aylmer to Bostaurus--a new higher end steak house-- for our good friend Sharon's 50th birthday(Garett's godmother). It was amazing to say the least. Tyler started off with some duck and duck rilettes and I had the butternut squash ravioli with scallions and crispy pancetta drizzled with a maple sauce over a bed of spinach (YUM)and then we moved onto the main course--Tyler had the sirloin with a bearnaise sauce and I had the filet mignon--all dishes come with seasonal veggies (squash, beans, carrots) and a potato side (we both got the twice baked potato). Everything was to die for. And that's an understatement. Everything melted in your mouth and was so flavourful my head could have exploded. Onto dessert--we were both pretty full at this point so we didn't buy anything, though everything seemed pretty tempting lol. But we had a bit of creme brule that came for Sharon that she didn't want since she ordered something else. It was SO good. I never would have been able to eat an entire one but it was delicious. I will try to make this at home since mom and dad bought me a creme brule torch for christmas LOL.
After dinner, we went and grabbed the babes--I think I did pretty well being away from him for a few hours even though I looked at pictures a lot lol but I was more than happy to have him back :)We then headed home with my meatball in tow (she was at the dinner for Sharon--her aunts bday as well :) ). We sat down with some wine and watched "This is 40" that we bought off of Apple TV. I have to say I am more than disappointed :( It was hilarious for the first while and then it got flat out depressing before it ended happily. Maybe it's one of those movies I have to watch a few times to really like it but we were in the mood to laugh and it just didn't play out that way--probably a good movie if you're in the mood for something like that though lol
Sunday we got up and Ty made a big breakfast for us girls (yum) and we hung out for a bit before Amber took off. We got ready and headed out to Ty's Aunt Joanne's house where all the McCann's were gathering. It was Garett's first time meeting most of them so needless to say, I lost him as soon as I walked in the door, which I hate. I hate having him taken out of my hands like that but I guess get it over with now and then anything after this no one will be grabbing him from me like that :) They all loved him and thought he was adorable and he was a perfect boy while we were there, not one peep, just wide eyes and smiles lol. We didn't stay too long since Ty's allergies were really acting up from Joanne's dog so we headed over to Rod and Sharon's for dinner. Angie and Stacy (Amber's parents), Justin and Alex and Marcus (Rods son, his gf and their baby), Sharon's brother and sister in law and her friend Gail were all there. Garett started getting tired and cranky just as supper was ready so Ty ate first and then came and got the baby and I ate. We had an italian style dinner--meat canneloni with pull apart garlic bread and some greek salad. It was delicious!! We had to eat and run pretty much because Garett wanted to lay down flat and there was no where to lay and Marcus was crying at this point too so I think that made Garett cry even harder LOL. When we got home, we put on Zero Dark Thirty and I fell asleep about halfway through and went up to bed with Garett who was still sleeping (he slept for 11 straight hours this night without waking lol). Anyways--let down of a movie. it was SO slow and lack lustre.
Monday morning we got up and watched Life of Pi. Pretty good movie but wasn't what we were expecting! I love the story I was just expecting more "wow" moments. We're not having the greatest luck with new movies! lol
After that we both got ready and headed over to Peggy's for a short visit for her easter dinner :) We headed home and bought the season pass for season 9 of Grey's on the Apple TV, watched one episode and went right to bed we were so tired! Garett slept from 10pm-5:30 when he got up because he pooped and was hungry and went back to sleep and is still sleeping and its 8:51 lol.
Today Ty is out signing more contracts and doing more estimates so I will hang out and watch teen mom that I missed monday night and cuddle with my boy :) Hope you all have a great day back to work!!!
