Weeks are flying by
Honestly, I can't even keep track of time anymore. It feels like every other day is a Friday--time is going so fast lately. I hope everyone that is working right now feels the same!
We have been busy with the house lately --trying to get it to work a bit better for us before we sell. I am not really wanting to move while I am on maternity leave, just because it is crazy to me to think of moving (and all the stuff that comes with it--packing, unpacking, renos, etc) with a baby less than a year old. But this house just isn't working for us anymore either--so something must be done! We are changing our dining table to one that seats more people and is lower--the pub style was great before the baby and when we didn't really have people over for meals, but now if we have more than 2 people over to eat, there is not enough table room, and once Garett starts crawling more (he's already pulling him self up somewhat onto things now), the high table will be a crazy hazard. Haven't decided what I want to do with my table. I paid a lot of money for what it is and probably won't even make half of it back, but we also don't have room to store it right now (why I want to keep it, I don't know lol).
We have the fridge all set up and stocked with the drinks that do nothing but take up room in our main fridge for when people visit (some beers, soft drinks, a Brita, wine, etc) and will use it also for when we just have that overflow of fridge stuff (like when we have Bbqs and such).
Organizing the shelves in the laundry room and putting a pantry in there to store the extra kitchen appliances (food processor, toaster oven, etc that don't get regular use). Also organizing the laundry system a bit with sorting baskets and whatnot.
Deep cleaning, reorganization and sterilization of everything in the cabinets.
It's the little things! Anything we can think of that will make our lives easier in this little house, we will do it! Baby stuff takes up SO much space, we may as well just put Garett's name on the mortgage and make him pay the bills lol.
Last night we had a late dinner since we both ate late lunches, and it was worth the wait! I made some turkey burgers (made them a bit spicy like Italian sausage) to BBQ and a "Greek" style salad for the side--yum!
I found a recipe on Pinterest yesterday that I couldn't resist--they made it as a pizza style but I just made it into square type things--banana split brownies...homemade brownies on the bottom, middle layer is a cream cheese and pineapple mix (makes it taste like cheesecake) and top layer was homemade whipped cream with sliced up strawberries and bananas, topped with some coconut. It is surprisingly light tasting--Ty had seconds...and then thirds later on lol, so needless to say he was in deep love with it as well.
After that we settled in to watch some TV ...looked like a serious storm coming....then it didn't even rain here. Passed us over again. Though I found a video on Facebook (I shared it too) of a tornado touching down in the ogilvie area yesterday. It's so scary that these type of storms are becoming a reality in our part of the country :(
I printed off our tickets for our date day this morning :) pretty excited! (Excited for all of August, really).
Garett had his first taste of banana yesterday--it gets his stamp of approval (big time). He devoured the entire feeding in like 3 minutes and made no mess! Lol what a boy:) 3 more days of those, then avacado!
Today, not much on the go! Ty went to work and is now out running a few errands and will be home very early :)
.....have a great Tuesday everyone! Treat yourself to a nice lunch or walk outside in this beautiful weather!
I like the idea of using ground turkey for stuff...I'm just so scared to use it in case it's gross or not flavorful enough. What all did you put in it??
ReplyDeleteWell it's definitely not gross, don't worry! It's like making a chicken burger or beef burger-easy peasy! They maintain their size on the grill because there's little to no fat in turkey, so they are much easier to work with than beef even. It won't be flavorful if you don't add flavour (lol) but there's not a ton of taste to the turkey, so you will really be able to taste everything you add. I flavored mine with minced garlic, some cayenne, onion and a bunch of other spices I just threw in. So tasty-- definitely give turkey a chance :)
