Powder Room Decor

Image
Well, I put some thought into the main floor powder room. I am struggling with this room because it's the first thing you see when you walk in the door. The door to the bathroom is right in front of your face on the other side of the entryway, and I wasn't 100% sure I wanted to change the colour from the light builders beige in there now. I LOVE me a dark, rich bathroom, but it also scares me. But I sucked it up because paint is interchangeable, no big deal. If I hate it, we can paint again.   So here is a colour similar to what I'm thinking: A nice deep olive green. Sorry the picture is so small, but I think you get the idea colour wise. Here is a picture of the actual bathroom: I pretty much just love the stuff she decorated with, but not the colour, not the mirror, etc. And since it's socially unacceptable to ask people to leave all of their decorations when you buy their house, I will have to do my own bathroom haha Behind the toilet, I want a da...

Mama's boys RULE (the house)

Image
I'm considering the adoption of a coffee habit. I know it's bad, but I don't even remember my drive into work this morning. I was a total zombie, but I'm here now, and still half asleep--snap out of it, Amy! See? This is why I don't stay up "late" to watch award shows usually! Last night, I picked up G from daycare and he was a tired little munchkin. We stood on the front lawn watching the big diggers fill dump trucks (only benefit of living in a construction zone is having a little boy that LOVES big trucks). We went inside and he ran to his room yelling "NA" (Nap)...well, I guess he was tired. He laid down, went right to sleep and slept until 7:15 (from 4:15 lol). While he was sleeping, I relaxed for a short time until Ty got home, so then I just made up some meat sauce and pasta--tossed some of it in butter for g when he got up, and we ate and watched some Dragons Den. I went in and woke Garett up at 7:15, like I said, and gave him his ...

Closet Obsession

Image
This weekend was jam packed full of family time. It was nice :) It was so hot yesterday though, I'm surprised my skin didn't melt off...but I will hold my tongue with the complaining, because we have less than a month left of "summer", and the trees by my house are already turning all shades of orange and falling....noooo...though I am looking forward to the brief period where we can wear sweaters and scarves (before the winter boots and big coats again). I didn't do much packing (See: Any) this weekend, or planning for the new house. The only thing I was thinking about was getting there to organize. The idea of every nook and cranny in my house being organized and perfect excites me...God, I am getting so old sounding haha. With the exception of a few rooms in the house where G will always be, and I realise at that point it's all I can do to keep it clean, let alone tidy--other places are safe from his little curious hands. Linen closet--the house I am in...

Future master bedroom

Image
Well, time for the Master--the last bedroom on the upper level :) First, paint. I think the wall I put the bed, will be a darker accent wall. These paint colours are perfect :) I still love my bed, so we will use that ! The bedding I want to be warm and rich looking. I found this set I love, and it's reversible !!  This is a bad picture, but this reverse side is pinstriped My bedside lamps, I love too--we bought them together on one of our date days. They aren't this, but similar with the brown wrap :) Ceiling light will be: I am going to use my brown shag rug in here under the bed And put the glider from G's room in here with the tall lamp that matches the nightstand lamps for a reading nook in the bay window I want to get the beige chunky cable nit blanket to throw over the back of the reclining glider chair :) Since there is a walk inn closet, I want to paint it black inside The light will be replaced with this chandelier And I need a stool similar to this :)

Future Spare Room

Image
I am so bored (and stressed at the same time) with my everyday life, and don't want to burden everyone with my day to day thought process (like how we move in 19 days and I haven't started packing, and that we are gone for three of those nights to Windsor, or that Tyler takes posession of his store in 10 days and that he will also be busy with that, etc,etc....lots of stuff on the go.  So, to distract myself, I bring to you, my Future Spare Room...This is one I have had in my mind since I joined Pinterest. I knew the nightstands and bed I wanted, I knew the general idea of a very monotone room with little tiny punches of colour is all I wanted. And for the people sleeping in it to feel like it was some sort of fancy hotel lol..so...here is my perfect (to me ) spare room :)  The wall color will be a very soft grey--or I might decide to go a darker more pewter grey...I can't decide...but for now, this muted grey :) The bed I want, is upholstered, with rivets all a...

Garett's Future Room

Image
There isn't much I love more than imagining all the possibilities this new house has to offer--especially the possibilities of decorating. So I have set out to do one room at a time and pick pieces I absolutely love, that are of very good quality that can see us through the next little while, and that can grow with our family--it truly is an investment to have a house that meets all your needs. Today, I bring you my future favourite room in a house--my little boys room :) And since he is the bomb (spoken like a mother lol), his room should be also! From the bottom to the top :) First, I present to you his Mocha wall colour, which I love because it's neutral and we can change the decor at any given time if he somehow learns to declare "I WANT MY ROOM THOMAS!!!" haha Next item, which we have all seen, and my favourite pieces of furniture: His crib and shelves--well his shelf is also a hutch top that can come off and be a bookshelf--but I like how masculin...
