Monday! :)

Coming into a new week wide-eyed and bushy tailed is not generally how I feel on Monday mornings. But with my acting at work and everything going so well at home, I am feeling very optimistic lately :)

Yesterday was quite the day. We originally had 12 houses on our to-see list. 1 never verified that we could come by, and 1 we ended up cancelling because we knew it just wasn't right for us.

My parents came to watch G while we headed out for a few hours, and we were out the door by 10:20. The first house was a total disaster (one of Tyler's picks lol)...we even saw a snake on our way out the door. I have never ran so fast in my life :) What I REALLY wanted was to go home and have a shower after this house. It was just awful...but it was necessary to get my husband back onto my side. (He thought he wanted a fixer upper, and it took that house to show him that's exactly what he didn't want lol).

So onto the houses I wanted to see :) There were a few that we liked, where we put into the maybe pile.

Finally, it arrived. We pulled up...instantly fell in love with the neighbourhood, loved the curb appeal. Walked inside and we both smiled to each other. The house is perfect for us. It meets every need--open, but still compartmentalized. Spacious but cozy. A few things for Ty to tinker around with (though it's a pretty new house) and we sat there and sat there and sat there trying to decide if we wanted to see the last house on the list (which was one I REALLY wanted to see). There was about an hour before we had our appointment for the next house, so we went to the local restaurant and had some lunch with our realtor.

I walked in the door of this other place and just went "WOW"...it was nicely decorated, but as we looked closer there was just too much to do. The floors upstairs were new bamboo floors and they were a death trap--SO slippery. Garett wouldn't be able to walk on these. And good luck with him EVER being able to use the stairs (also very slippery). It was a nice house, but it was beginning to show it's age. So back home we went and wrote the offer up for our pick!

We put a midnight deadline on the offer, and started getting nervous later in the evening...time was ticking--the realtor couldn't locate the seller's...we were so nervous.

Then it happened...the phone rang...then began a quick verbal back and forth a few times and finally, the last call--they accepted :) My realtor will be here soon to sign the paperwork, go see Ty, sign the paperwork, give our deposit and then the home inspection this week sometime. We are really hoping since it's a newer house that there are no issues, so that we can put the sold sign up sooner than later!

As for which house it is--well that will be a surprise :)

September 30 is the current closing date on both houses, but once the sold signs go up, we will amend to Sept 13! Hard to believe it all happened so quick!
Hard to believe that (hopefully) in just over a month we will be sitting in our new place!! :) I CANNOT wait!!

Today, from 1-5 are the other inspections on my place for the buyers (WET certification for the wood stove and septic) and then we can go home :) ...I suppose this means another dinner out, and another night of a potentially cranky boy who doesn't like when he doesn't even have the option of a second nap (lol...I feel his pain :) ).

Needless to say, this should be a very exciting week for us! And then a fun filled weekend ahead as well for us all :)

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and have smiles on your faces this Monday morning ! :)
