FRIDAY

Finishing off the longest week in the history of my life.

I left work yesterday around noon, and was forced to wait until the ultrasound office came back from lunch. This is not an easy feat with a full bladder. The technician ALWAYS comments on how full my bladder is, lol. Baby was not being overly cooperative at either end yesterday--we got the measurements of the spine, brain, leg bones, all of the organs, etc fine. But when it came to nose/lips, hands, feet, and gender: a little more difficult.

We attempted the gender first. It took a few minutes but the technician FINALLY got a shot--Girl! She had her legs closed/crossed the entire time--which apparently is common for females ( I made a comment about how easy Garett's identification was because he was spread eagle for us. She said females often lock their legs so we can't get a good look). Then she tried for the facial measurements and hands--baby girl also kept her hands up over her eyes most of the time. In true Patenaude diva fashion, she wanted to be left alone. Or she was fixing her hair and trying to give her good angle lol.
Lo and behold, we finally got everything and I got to head out.

I debated going shopping--but when you're trying to pack up shop at home, more items to throw in boxes isn't ideal. So I said maybe I'll wait and order some stuff online. I grabbed a quick lunch and headed home to try and be productive.

Wouldn't you know that as soon as I got home, I looked at the boxes and turned to go upstairs to eat. I started the "Dash Dolls" series on the android TV and relaxed. Told my family and posted the news, so spent the other hour texting and fielding messages/name suggestions/comments/phone calls.

I made some shopping carts online and discovered we have now entered that dead zone of not knowing which house to order things to--depending on how long shipping takes, etc. So I just left the carts full and will start ordering on Wednesday or so! I don't want anything to come to this house, and I don't want things to sit on the porch of the other place!

The vacuum I ordered and the toys I ordered showed up yesterday--so already two large boxes additional to go, lol. oops :)

I picked up Garett a bit early, brought him home, and we told him the news. He got his wish, he will have a "human baby" joining the family. He wasn't phased at all by the gender news--I think he genuinely doesn't know the difference of a girl vs boy to play with yet, as long as he gets a play pal.
He thinks the baby IS my niece, and I said "no bud. She's a girl, just like her, but will be a different person and have her own name :) Will you help me take care of her and protect her?" and he said "yes, but I don't want to help change stinky bums!!" I think including him every step of the way will really help the bond and love they will have, so we will figure out a way to include him in the processes. He will be such a good big brother, I can't wait for her to get here, not just for us, but for him too.

We had a quick random dinner (got to toss a few more boxes in the recycling!! haha), and played, read a bit, all took baths, had a snack and laid in bed with tv for about 30 minutes before bedtimes.

It was quite the day/night.

Now my mind is whirling because I have so many things to shop for--Spring/summer clothes for garett, maternity clothes for me, paint/décor for the new place, baby clothes/items/toys, etc. What a problem to have--to much to shop for , and so little time! lol

I picked July 8 as my last day at work. So that countdown is going to be starting soon!

Tonight we don't have any real plans. We invited Garett's godparents/our good friends over for dinner. But we also really need to pack, since we are moving in 8 days. I am going to bin up all the clothes from the dressers and our closets we don't wear. And go through Garett's baby bins and get rid of everything but his newborn clothes.  One small task at a time :) There isn't much left to pack now, everything is mostly boxed/binned up and stacked in the living room/garage/basement. It's all the last minute stuff, and I just plug away as the days go on-can we go 9 more days without this? Yes? Pack it! lol

Next Friday is Garett's last day at his current daycare, so I have to figure out little gifts for the kids (since there's allergies there), and a gift for his provider. Should I give money? Alcohol? Gift cards? Toys? Spa day? I just don't know!!!

Anyways, that's all for now! Happy Friday , everyone :)
