Let me just start off by saying W.T.F? This morning we woke up and our house was a bone chilling 18 degrees. As I sit here, the heater is currently on and blasting warm air back into the house. There is something wrong with this picture. Mid-May and the heater is on again. Unbelievable!

So, I guess back to where I left off. Thursday evening, like always, was Zumba. It had just downpoured for a few minutes and I was really not feeling like going anywhere. It was definitely a movie and pj kind of night since it was so damp out, but I got my butt in gear and headed out (yay willpower). It had finally stopped raining and I got to a corner near my place, looked up and saw this rainbow in the sky. Not sure why, but it made me feel so happy! So happy, I decided to snap a picture of it in the distance :)

After Zumba, I was pooped. I didn't want to do much, so I jumped in the shower, grabbed my baby and my flyers I got that morning, Ty poured me a rum and coke (I know, I just worked off all those calories and now I'm going to have a drink?! lol but I feel I deserved it) and I sat down, put my feet up and relaxed! I only drank about half the drink....turns out I don't really like rum and coke anymore, but the thought was there! lol

We were in bed by 10:30 and Ty was up early for work. Can I just say this teething thing is not any fun at all? I got about 4 hours of broken sleep this night. Garett would get to sleep and be all peaceful and whatnot, then all of a sudden wake up in hysterical painful sounding cries. My poor boy :(

Friday I just hung out around the house watching some court tv and playing with Garett. Didn't do a whole lot! We stayed in and hung out together as a family Friday night--ordered pizza and relaxed.

Saturday Tyler had to be in Kanata for 9 am for the bands last practise before their gig. I had another crummy nights sleep with Garett teething, but still managed to get about 9 hours in (all broken sleep though so it really feels like 3 hours lol).So again, Garett and I spent the morning together.

After that, I did some dishes and laundry, but just piled it on the folding table since I didn't feel like putting it away at that moment LOL (this is dangerous because my cat Marty always goes up and steals socks and takes them to wherever he hides them--and we can't find his hiding spot lol). I decided since it was a chilly day, I would have a hot chocolate in the Tassimo while Garett took a little nap. (I love these small moments to myself).

Before I even got to finish my drink, Tyler walked in the door with flowers in hand :) Since we were busy on Sunday he picked up my flower order on Saturday from his cousin Melissa's (the florist) business Bloomin' Funky! I love the flowers! But I loved the card even more :) It said "Happy First Mother's day, Punkin. I love you and so does Garett. To the best mom in the world. Love Ty and Garett"...Tyler is not one for writing in cards and such so I take these small victories whenever I can get them! lol Added bonus was that the flowers were gorgeous. She even stuck a pen into the arrangement LOL And my real gift, if you can recall was my golf clubs! :) I just couldn't wait until Mother's day for them haha

Saturday evening we had dinner plans with our friends and Garett's Godparents Rod and Sharon. We decided we didn't really want to eat out anywhere, so we ordered in from Open Rice Asian Fusion on St. Laurent. It was so tasty! Rod said it's even better when you eat in the actual restaurant, but I thought it was delicious. Ty got the beef Pho (which I had a taste of and realised he got it with cilantro--my most hated taste in the world lol). I ate from the array of other foods we bought: Dumplings, pork and veggies stir fry, General Tsao (sp?) chicken, rice, egg rolls. mmmmm. I want to eat there again NOW lol.

After we ate, the boys went to the basement to play a game of pool, and Sharon, Garett and I went into the living room to watch Nancy Grace Mysteries while I gave Garett his bottle. It was about the Jodi Arias case and how she gave an interview 20 minutes after her guilty verdict---she's crazy, long story short lol. We headed out shortly after. What a nice evening with friends though :) We haven't been over there in quite some time, so we had some catching up to do.

Sunday, we were up bright and early to get ready. We packed up the baby and each took our vehicles into town to meet with Dolly, Peggy and Terry (in-laws) for brunch. We ate at this place in Orleans called Lexus. The food was good, but I think I probably would have enjoyed it more if Garett wasn't fussy and if it wasn't so busy in there.

After breakfast, Ty had some time to kill before heading to Wakefield to set up for his gig, but Garett was in a bad mood by this point so Ty headed to his moms to relax and visit a bit, and Gman and I came home. He is so much calmer at home! He was a little ticked still when we got here but after laying down flat for a while, he zonked right out for a bit of a nap! Phew!

While Ty was gone, my parents decided to come for a short impromptu visit :) I was thinking of maybe going to Cornwall that afternoon but with Garett's mood at breakfast, I didn't feel like being away from home, so it worked out well! They had bought me this gorgeous necklace from Kameleon Jewellery. I'm not sure if any of you have heard of it--I hadn't until yesterday--but it's interchangeable jewellery. They sell everything--watches, bracelets, rings, necklaces, earrings, pendants, sunglasses, belt buckles, etc and you buy the jewels/gems to put in it and can switch them out. Then you get this little pewter case thing to store the gems in until you want to change them! Very cool :)

If you want to take a look and buy something, you can do it online as well:

Tyler got home before they left, so we visited a bit more, dad made some more funny voices to get Garett smiling away and before I knew it they were out the door again.

When they left, Tyler was wondering what was for dinner, and since it was Mother's Day, I said it's not my problem. I'm sure you can guess that we ended up ordering food since it was Tyler's job to do dinner. Sigh. So I ordered a club sandwhich and he had some lebanese. I just want to be the first to point out that I had a pretty crappy first mother's day. I had to wake up with Garett (except I got Tyler out of bed at 5 am to feed him a bottle too lol), Tyler wasn't here for most of the day dealing with Garett's recent antics, then when he did get home, he jumped in the tub for a hot soak (because that;s not something I would have liked or anything), left me to answer the door when the food got there, then put some stupid asian karate movie on that I asked him to change and he didn't. I was a bit annoyed, I won't lie, so I said I am taking a bath after dinner. Took my May edition of Cosmo in (that I was still only halfway through and have June's waiting to be read lol), ran a hot bubble bath and relaxed for a while. I felt much better after I unwinded. I may be a bit dramatic, but I always plan such wonderful things for him on Valentine's day, his birthday or any important day for him so that it's memorable and so he has fun, feels loved and pampered, and it just bothers me when he can't take the time to plan things like that for me a bit. So yeah, my feelings were a bit hurt. But I have come to realize none of my days go well lol. Like for instance, my birthdays ALWAYS suck, I have such bad luck lol. Oh well...enough with this pity party! lol I will choose  to focus on the good things in life today :)

We were in bed pretty early (I'm talking like 8:30). We decided to throw on the movie Chernobyl Diaries. I'm pretty sure we couldn't have picked a worse movie to make us tired. I thought it was a true story/documentary, so weren't we surprised to find out it was actually a horror/suspense/thriller?! lol. We watched it anyways because it was pretty good, but you think that's conducive to falling asleep? Nope, not really! lol I was asleep though by midnight, I was just so tired lol

We actually got a good nights sleep last night, Garett cooperated (yay). But it was back to early mornings for Ty to head into work (though he doesn't work long days anymore :)) and I got Garett up for a bottle and diaper. He's now napping again since on normal days he sleeps until around 10 lol. So I may use this chance to start my june Cosmo, watch some tv, and get all the bottles cleaned.

I hope everyone had a great weekend (long one coming up!) and if you're a momma, I hope your day went a little better than mine :) Happy Monday!!
