Yesterday was a good day. It was a little rough for me and Ty since it was Garett's first shots (and he wasn't happy about it), but all in all, a good day.
Ty was up at the crack of dawn to head out to work. I got up and tidied up as much as I could and relaxed a bit before I had to scramble to get Garett's diaper bag all packed up and get him dressed and ready to go. I had to adjust the car seat as well so the straps are up higher now and is more comfortable for him. I cleaned out my car a bit (tired of seeing stuff in the backseat), got the mail and headed out to the doctors.
I had been dreading that day because vaccines are so controversial (some extremists even say they are like poison to the baby and can lead to SIDS). Either way, I knew he had to eventually have them, because the only thing I'm more worried about is him getting sick with something he's NOT vaccinated against lol. I am glad I waited until he was 3.5 months though instead of 2 months. Let his system mature a bit more before shooting him up full of stuff lol. I know it sounds paranoid but it's what I felt was best for him, so deal with it! haha
Ty surprised us and met us at the doctors office :) So he got to hold the squirmy baby as he had his oral vaccine syringed down his throat (not an easy task, let me tell you) and his shot (one in each thigh). My poor boy. He cried the whole time (I think mostly because he was being held tight and he hates feeling restricted). The nurse let us know he may either be cranky or sleepy for the rest of the day (he was sleepy, thank god lol).

Before the shots she did all his measurements and it was what I expected. When I see other babies Garett's age I always feel like they're chunkier and shorter, and since day one I thought he had a big head lol...turns out he is in the 50th percentile for weight (3 months and 2 weeks) at 13.6lbs--which is healthy. I was worried he wasn't gaining fast enough. And she measured his length (25 and 3/4 inches) and his head circumference which I THINK was 16 and 1/3 inches but I would have to check his paper to be 100% lol. Anyways, in both of those categories he's in the 90th percentile LOL. So she said he will likely be long and lean like daddy as he grows up (yay).
After the docs, Ty and I went and grabbed some lebanese food at Tyro's (yum. It's been FOREVER since I've gotten lebanese).
Once we were done eating, we had to go our separate ways. I went home and Ty had to go back to work for a bit. I had just gotten Garett home and settled and cleaned some bottles/did dishes and Ty got home. He had to write up some estimates so Gman and I had more alone time for a bit.
Around 6 we decided to have some dinner. Since it was gorgeous outside we decided to bbq and sit out on the back porch :) Garett LOVES being outside, so we will try to do this as much as possible. I set out the placemats, made our veggies and potatoes, set out the accessories and cutlery and Ty bbq'd the meat. I was so nice :) The sun wasn't as strong as during the afternoon so it was so relaxing sitting out there!
We hung out a bit and then came in and we cleaned up the dishes together, then all headed to the basement for the game! What a game !! I can't believe we won, but yay! :) I just want us to get to the finals so we can hit up the red mile in the market. The year we went to the finals me and a bunch of friends headed down there and it was AWESOME! Like one big huge street party where everyone is friends with everyone all day and night.
We're in the process of deciding which Hotel we want to stay at this year when we go to Tremblant. Since Rod and Sharon can't come with us on our trip to Cancun in November, we are going to head up to Tremblant with them (we missed it last year since I wanted to save my vacation time for right before my mat leave so i could have a few extra weeks off before it started ). So we are looking forward to an early trip. We haven't decided yet if we will bring Garett or not. I think it would be cute to walk around with the stroller and stuff, but it would make other things complicated--restaurants and stuff are not really conducive there to bring babies. We will do 2 or 3 nights, so not too bad.
Today marks the beginning of Ty's shorter days at work :) He will only be putting in long days on days they have a few pours now. YAY.
Hope everyone has a wonderful hump day!! It's gorgeous out again so get out on lunch breaks if you can :) (you may not want to go back in after though lol).
