Old School Blogging : Link up!
I am linking up today with a blog I just started following this week: Emmy Mom. (And being that this is my first time ever linking up, I'm not sure if I even did it right!! haha)
Her blog is so much fun to read--pop on over and link up yourself :)
This time it is all about favorites.
FAVORITE:
1. Sit down restaurant:
Tyler and I eat out quite a bit. Mostly for the convenience--and mostly on weekends. So normal day-to-day restaurants don't excite me anymore. We love to get dressed up, go out for a nice 3 hour, 5-course meal, and not worry about scarfing our food down because the little munchkin MIGHT get impatient (though he is usually pretty great *knock on wood*). So I have 3 favourites:
2. Our second favourite place is also in town--named Luxe Bistro and Steakhouse. It's beside a really skeevy strip-joint, but that's to be expected in the Market. Everything is next to a strip joint lol. This place has funky new combinations of flavours, and the best steak we have ever had. It's a bit pricey, but the ambiance is ultra-sheek and the staff is amazingly attentive.
3. This was our be-all and end-all restaurant. La Garde Manger in Montreal. Opened by chef Chuck Hughes. It looks like NOTHING from the outside. Literally, there is not even one single sign. Unless you know the exact address, you will never find it just walking around on the street. It is fairly small inside, meaning it's hard to get reservations, but it is so amazing. They never rush you, they wait the perfect amount of time between courses, they have new fresh menu options all the time. Such a cool little spot to hang out, if you're a local--and rich . haha Pretty sure if we lived close to this restaurant, we would be poor at $400 for two of us to eat.
3. Bath Product Scent
4. TV Shows
We don't want any live TV, but from Apple TV or Netflix, we are currently keeping up with Sons of Anarchy, Grey's Anatomy and Real Husbands of Hollywood and Brooklyn 99 are our two guilty pleasures. I also am addicted to Teen Mom and Are you the One ? (I know, sorry lol). And have finished the series for Lost, Sex and the City, Reba, One Tree Hill, and Gossip Girl.
5. Flower/plant
9. HolidaySeriously though, I don't think there CAN be an answer other than Christmas here!!!! CHRISTMAS. Stockings and presents and decorations and baking and hot chocolate and time with family and going to bed early and making new traditions and seeing the looks on peoples faces. I love everything about it.
10. Girls Night Out Activity
Out for a nice dinner, a glass of wine, gossip and venting sessions. If we had all the time in the world, spa outtings are nice--but most of us don't have that time to spare anymore :( Girl time is taking a real kicking lately.
11. Date Night
I literally am so blessed to be married to the man I am with. We have so much fun together when we go out just the two of us. We recently just finished a year of dates (I'm a bad blogger and stopped writing about them, but I am planning another year currently to give to him for his birthday in january and will blog about them then :)I promise). He is lucky in that he is married to me, because I love scoping out new and interesting things to do around the city. Playing tourist in our own town is our favourite thing to do. From festivals to fairs to museums and nature walks...it's so beautiful here, and we take it for granted so often, living in this big beautiful country capital :) I can't pick one favourite!!! Any time with my husband is my favourite date night :) (cheesy enough for you all?)

So I have 3 favourites:
1: This is our go-to restaurant for nice dining (though we mostly love to try new places). It is a family-owned little Italian cafe called Trattoria Caffe Italia (on Preston in the heart of Little Italy). It is so dark and cozy in there at night, and the front window is draped in plants and grapes and makes it literally feel like you are in Italy.

2. Cookie
This is a hard one, because it really depends on my mood. I will say generally I am a chocolate chip kind of girl. Though there is nothing better than the perfect flaky shortbread cookie!! mmmm
I really hate bath products that are overly strong. I don't want to smell like an old lady, nor do I want to smell like a musky man. I like clean/fresh smells for the bath, so I generally don't use bubble bath. But if I do want some bubbles, I will use the aromatherapy line from Bath and Body Works. We are addicted to the "stress relief" (Which is Eucalyptus and Spearmint scent) and the "sleep" (Lavender Chamomile scent). Put a bit of these oils in the tub and they foam up like crazy! Also they leave your skin really soft :)

5. Flower/plant
Cherry Blossoms are my favourite blooming tree/plant. They are gorgeous in full bloom. I used cherry blossom branches in my centerpieces at our wedding :)
6. Bad-for-me-snack
6. Bad-for-me-snack
Lots. Again depending on the time of the month, and my mood haha. Cake. It would be bad if I always had cake in my house.
7. Magazines
7. Magazines
Food network or Racheal Ray. I also like Ricardo...guilty pleasure is Cosmo, of course.
8. Hobby
Shopping. Reading. Organizing/decorating. Making lists (yes this is a real hobby--and if you're also an A-type personality, you will understand). Movies. Going out to dinner. Going to new places. Travelling. Live Music shows, live theatre shows. Going for drives. Playing with my son. Taking pictures of nothing and everything. etc.
