Recap
Hi all,
I had no idea how beautiful that back room would turn out. I couldn't picture it. It had been 4 walls, crummy half broken tile floors with ceiling tiles falling out everywhere. I was not taken aback by its beauty when I first saw the store, let's put it that way:)
As the paint went up, new flooring went in, ceiling tiles replaced, bathroom and drywall everywhere redone..it started shaping up. But with the addition of the projector, the furniture, the artwork and all the stock...it is beautiful. A place G will have birthday parties in the future, that's for sure!!
Here are a few pictures from the day:
Ottawa City Counsellor and Mayor posing by the front of the store with some of the cosplay folks that came for store promotion.

Early in the day--the back room--when I went by, this room was so packed it was shoulder to shoulder, and I could barely move!
Great success :)
That Darth Vader head on the table? Yah, that's cake.
Another shot.
Doctor Who popped by, too :)
Friday night and all day until late on the Saturday of our Thanksgiving weekend was jam packed with store chat.
After I left the store, we popped in for some lunch, hit up Toys R Us and went on home.
Sunday was pretty lack lustre. Ty went in for a few hours, G and I lounged around, and when Ty came home we went to the next little township over for Thanksgiving Dinner with his family. It was nice to see everyone again, and we left about an hour after dinner since G was getting quite tired.
Monday, we had plans to go to the Bob the Builder exhibit at the Children's Museum, but G decided to take a 3 hour nap, so we would have been too late getting there :( I was so excited for this haha...so we decided since it is on until November, we will go another day!
So instead, we hung out, went to the park to play a bit and came home for dinner and baths!
While my Thanksgiving weekend is post poned, my heart still feels full after a weekend like we had. The outpouring of support not only from some of our friends and family, but from the community is amazing.
So, because I am so grateful for everyone and everything in my life, I don't really need to make a post dedicated to it entirely, I feel. Everything is gravy at this point, and I never, not even for a second forget how lucky we are to have the life we have, and the blessings we have received.
I hope everyones hearts and tummies are full after this long weekend, and I am SO looking forward to this coming weekend, as it's my time "off"...and by time off, I mean a girls dinner on Friday night, a day of shopping (maybe a pedi?) on Saturday, and our family pictures are on Sunday! Pretty exciting weekend ahead...
Yesterday was great because it was 30 degrees in our office (even hotter feeling when NO windows can open and theres ceiling to floor windows pretty well all the way around the premise of the floor)...so we got sent home from it around 1...I went, got my groceries done, put away, watched half of a movie on Netflix with an ice cold pepsi and then went to get my boy still almost an hour earlier than I normally would have :)
Happy Hump-Day of this short week everyone! Hopefully you are off and able to enjoy this beautiful weather we are being absolutely spoiled with!!
