Winding Up
As normal people are starting to wind-down to enjoy a nice relaxing Thanksgiving long weekend, my little family is winding UP. This is a big weekend in our household this year.
As many/most of you already know, my husband has opened a second business. This one has a retail location now that has been open since end of September, but was not yet completed inside. Well, they are putting finishing touches on it, and having the big grand opening this Saturday, October 11! We are so excited. They are already such a great success, I can't even imagine how wonderful they will do with advertising and more word of mouth! They also run an online shop, so everyone can visit them here and buy, buy, buy :) They have the most competitive prices on board games, comics, cards, etc
The Kessel Run
Because holiday seasons are the busiest time of year to open stores, this throws the wrench into our Thanksgiving plans this year. We will be post-poning with the families. But I will make a little turkey and some stuffing and potatoes for us at home :) Can't let that hardworking man get too depressed about missing one of his favourite meals!
We are hoping to get G's room painted on Monday--and his art should be arriving in the next week or two! I just want to go buy some more fitted sheets that are a solid colour (we have so many with patterns :( ) to match the room once it's all put together. We can maybe get his new ceiling light installed as well !
Last night, Ty assembled the little bench/storage thing I bought from Bed,Bath and Beyond :) I just wanted something little in the front hall that wouldn't impede people walking through. The dimensions of this one were pefect, people can sit on it to put their shoes on, theres space to store hats/mitts/scarves in the winter and theres also some storage under the cushions. I love how it's a piece, but it's insignificant enough that no one will be overwhelmed by it when they first walk in! We have to still hang the art work I bought for above it, but must paint the hallways first :)
I made some pasta dish for dinner right after that, so we chowed down on that, played, we all had our baths/ showers/ cleaned the house up a bit and laid in bed watching Brooklyn 99 for a bit before passing out!
Tyler also ordered the part for my car, since a mechanism inside isn't allowing me to shift my car out of park without the help of a screwdriver! And looking ghetto each time I start my car is not something I enjoy haha. Other than that, with the oil change and flushes, she's feeling good as new :) Starting to look at *shudder* winter tires though..yuck.
I need to get on a normal eating routine. The nothing for breakfast, and shoving some lunch down my throat at noon, then nothing until 6 or 7 is not working for me. I spend the majority of the day either feeling starving or sick because I was so hungy, and at too fast....I need to set an alarm for myself to eat at work I think! Sometimes I just get too "in the zone" and I look up and it's 1:00! oops.
I bought all of our clothes for our upcoming fall photoshoot online the other day. Can't wait for them to come in :) I don't like how uncoordinated our last shoot looked because of our mismatched clothes, so we are trying the colour scheme/matching colours this time around..not all super matchy but hopefully it looks good together! :) We are having one of our friends do the shoot..and I think we will just do it close to home--the experimental farm was nice last time, but it's so inconvenient (far from us) and takes a lot of planning to get ready, get there and have everything we need for G. At least if we are near home and he wants out of his clothes after, we can just run home before heading back out--and won't look stupid walking around town in complimentary outfits LOL
Did anyone else wake up this morning thinking it was Friday?? Short weeks always feel long, and the week leading up to a long weekend feels long too!
