A Tale of Weekend Past

I am not impressed with Father Time right now...I think he on purpose makes the second hand move fast on clocks over the weekend..It doesn't seem feasible that it's over! I would like to officially boycott Mondays. Friday, we had one of Tyler's employees over for dinner. He was helping Ty out later on in the day, so he popped in on the way through, and so I made some chicken fajitas. He left around 8:30. By that time, G was in bed (he was pooped, as per usual), and so Ty and I decided to play some games. I was in bed by 11 or so, and we were up bright and early the next morning. We had some breakfast at home, and did some organizing around the house, then Ty cut the grass while G and I played inside. We went out for lunch afterwards to a local restaurant, played a little more and just puttered around the house all day. We sat down on a mission after G went to bed and scowered the real estate websites for a few hours looking at houses, making a list of which ones we want to see. I thought we would be able to figure out what we want, as once I make up my mind, I am done looking (I still want that house I linked up last week), but Ty forgets how much he loves a house 20 minutes after he leaves, so he feels like he wants to make busy work and keep looking--he wants a place that has a few things he can tinker around on to make the house our own, style wise....great. At the end of the conversation, we were moving again 2 years after we bought another place....I don't think so lol. I don't like moving THAT much. He wants to continue to "flip" houses and make a ton of money each time, a few times in a row (a very quick row--like 3 more houses over the next 6 years kind of row). End game being that we have a paid off mortgage after a few moves....I understand this, but since G arrived, my mind is in the school of thought where I just want to settle down in nice houses, move every 5 years into houses that meet our ever changing needs, and raise our family. Perhaps I will be able to convert him to my school of thought :) Anyways, away from the point of stress in my life...on Sunday, we headed into Barrhaven for Ty to quickly sign a contract, and stopped in at Johnny Canuck's for some lunch--we got SOAKED walking the 3 feet to the restaurant (it was like torrential downpours all day!). Pretty good food, but, as non-soccer fans, we didn't realise the world cup final game was happening. We left after the goal, when the entire restaurant errupted in the loudest shouting I have ever heard. Once it subsided and I could remove my hands for Garett's ears, we paid and left before anymore screaming ensued. We tested out the new bridge that gaps the huge commute between barrhaven and riverside south--saved us a TON of time getting home...we are fans :) We all cuddled up when we got home and enjoyed some family time with the overcast weather, before baths and bedtime! I enjoyed my weekend filled with family time--hugs, giggles and playtime with my little man, and all the laughs and quality time I got to spend with my husband after G went to bed ( we don't always get this kind of quality time in, so I was happy to have a quiet weekend planned!). These coming few are pretty hectic--Book of Mormon this weekend at the NAC, my vacation next week since daycare is closed, mix some Bruno Mars in there, mix frantic cleaning and a home appraisal in there, and a bunch of other random things that will be sure to pop up!...Yikes! One day at a time :) I can't plan so far ahead anymore haha...I MUST be getting old :) Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! And enjoy this beautiful sunny Monday :)
