Weekend Recap
It's hard to believe a few days went by since I last sat in this chair. Where is the time disappearing to?!?!
This weekend was a lot of fun; but productive, it was not!
I had my handy "to-do" list all ready to go Friday afternoon. I went home on a mission. G was pooped as soon as we got home, so I cleaned up the last few cabinets (I only have a set of dishes to pack and the fondue sets to take out of the cupboard above the fridge now :)). Once he woke up, that was pretty much it until Sunday.
Tyler decided to go golfing on Saturday around 11--and since he is such a hard working man, I couldn't say no when he asked. I usually get MORE done when he's gone anyways, but realized that the stuff I had planned to do that day was packing away alot of his stuff (bar stuff, garage stuff, etc), and I didn't want to do that without him, so I played for a bit instead. Instead of being productive when G went for his nap, I watched 2 episodes of Gossip Girl and had some lunch. Oops.My parents popped in for a quick visit when G woke up, then my sister in law popped in to grab a few baby things and chatted for a while, and then 2 of our friends and their daughter popped in too. Ty came home with his cousin and we bbq'd steak, had some potato salad and caesar salad, chatted for a while and said our goodbyes. Now I had a mile long to- do list and we had a ton of dishes to do LOL. Double Oops.
Sunday morning we got up and felt like being productive. Ty did some stuff outside, I cleaned up a bit from dinner the night before, went through all of G's "old" baby clothes and made my list for the store. The original plan was to go into town and hit up the Home Depot, but we decided to stay local instead and just grab what we needed at that exact moment, gather our thoughts after and make a proper shopping list (trying to figure out if we want to just paint the cupboards for resell, or buy new ones to hang and redo the couter and backsplash--no doubt we would get our money back, but it's a lot of work. However, it's the first room you see when you walk in...so....hmm). We just picked up the essentials--Magic erasers, some clips to hang brooms and stuff in the garage, lightbulbs, a screen kit to rescreen the basement windows, etc. It's all the little things people notice when buying a house. That missing screw in the outlet cover that needs to be put in, the little bit of paint that past owners have gotten on door stops, etc that we have to think about--so we did a walk through of just upstairs on Sunday, trying to look at the house from a buyers point of view--not too bad, but a few small jobs.
Tyler had the urge to cook last night (I almost passed out when he told me), so he made some citrus tilapia, roasted herb potatoes, mushroom risotto, and a tomato/ cucumber salad. I am so proud of him when he does this--and he is so proud of himself when it tastes good lol. So cute.
We did G's bath around 7:30 and just lounged around watching America's Funniest Home Videos until we went to sleep.
Hopefully the nights through the week will prove to be productive, because we really don't have time to put things off anymore.
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, and enjoyed the beautiful weather as much as we did! Today is looking pretty dark and wet (glad I didn't straighten my hair like I was planning this morning! lol) Stay dry everyone!!
