Mother Nature has a serious sense of humour

Well, back to the grind today! Yesterday was shaping up to be a beautiful day, but the weather warnings had us too scared to do everything we had planned. We woke up fairly early, got us all ready and packed up the car. The original plan was breakfast, a quick visit to my mother in laws place, a splash pad for little man, home for a nap, and out to a neighbouring community for their kids activities they had planned (petting zoo, firemen were there making a huge sprinkler, etc) and then home for another nap and playing in the yard..we really accomplished nothing almost! We went into town for a yummy breakfast just at Broadway's grill--G chowed down on sausage, eggs, homefries and toast, I had a breakfast wrap and Ty had his trusty breakfast poutine (he gets this everytime we go to this place for breakfast lol--how is he so skinny again??). We decided we would go for a swim at my M-i-l's as we all had our swimsuits that day--and we wanted to give it another whirl in the pool for G-man, since last time when I wasn't there he screamed and cried...To say he loved it this time was an understatement. Me and Ty went in alone with him and as we held him on his tummy, he was kicking and splashing and moving his arms all on his own--will be an easy kid to teach, our little water boy. He kept forcing to dunk his face, which I didn't like, but he was dunking his face on purpose and smiling and clapping--what a kid. Time got ahead of us, and we were in the pool for over an hour. We sat on the deck and dried off (didn't take long in that heat) and we had a snack of watermelon, got dressed and headed out. By this time it was 12:30 and G was overdue for his nap and was pretty heavy eye'd, so instead of braving an already over crowded splashpad, we headed home for his nap. He napped in the car on the way home, but barely slept once we got home and put him in his bed. So with the impending "severe weather" we decided not to take a cranky baby to Russell for any events. We stayed home, had some lunch and the weather was still sunny, so we went out and played in his new pool daddy brought home the other day. Once he was tuckered out, he came back in and slept for 3.5 hours. He needed that nap lol..I woke him up at 7:15 when dinner was ready, and it was back to bed for him at 8:30. We followed suit at that exact time--we were all beat from our day in the sun. While, it wasn't everything I had imagined, it was fun to have the day off as a family and hang out in the water and sun :)Hope everyone enjoyed their Canada Day! We are looking forward to looking at a home on Thursday after work--- http://grapevine.ca/listing/41610#.U7Lq9PnNHbU This is one of my top choices, so if we can't get our mind off of it--who knows what will happen :) The address is very appealing to us, as 13 has always been a very prevalent number in both mine and Tyler's life, we can't help but notice that the address (148) adds up to 13...spooky :) Hoping for no rain today, as I have to get groceries on the way home--and there's nothing worse than getting into the store wet, and leaving and unloading the cart and sitting in the car on the way home wet, and unloading the groceries at home and changing out of damp clothes! Fingers crossed for cooler, sunny temps haha (not likely, with a heat advisory already on). On the upside, the AC is cranked at work and the lights are on today! :) Other than that, not much new on our end of things. Happy hump day, all!!
