Busy weeknights

As the end of my work-time is quickly approaching, I somehow have more energy at night time. Maybe it's because I see an end in sight? I don't know, but I feel less pressured to immediately get home, do dinner, do bed time routines and get to bed.
Or perhaps that carefree summer vibe is creeping in :)

Either way. Last night was busy.

When I got home with G around 3:45, the guys were finishing up at the house for the day--finishing the forms in the back. Today they are forming the front and prepping the job to be poured--we decided to extend the patio about 4 feet in length and 2.5 feet in width, so they had some extra digging to do also. And can I say how excited I am to not have one of us parking on the road anymore? hooray. Come on pour day! Come on weather that isn't calling for rain, preventing the pour from happening!

We loaded G into the rental truck.
The rental truck. The bane of Tyler's existence currently.
Side story: About a month ago, Tyler was parked with his new F-150 in the parking lot of the MTO. While he was inside, getting new plates for one of his trailers, some lady hit his parked truck and made a bit of a dent and a scratch. Since the truck was brand new, he wasn't letting it slide. So anyways, insurance just came through, and the repair will take three days in the shop. In the meantime, they are providing him with a rental. A brand new Chevrolet Silverado 2500. He couldn't be more irritated by this truck. And I am not looking forward to another 2 days of the complaining lol. It's slow. He called it a "dog" when you push on the gas compared to his Fords. It's horrible on gas. He hates the interior, and how small the cab feels in comparison (G's feet are touching the seats even with the seat forward as far as it can go), there's no runner boards to climb up, so it's next to impossible for me in my current state to get in. He hates the colour (it's silver) and that it's not "his truck". Poor tyler hahah...they didn't have anything equivalent to his truck and the upgrades, so this is what he gets. Let's pray for a speedy repair and maybe it'll be ready today instead of tomorrow at closing , lol.

Anyways, we drove out to Greely to pick up his closing cheque for one of his waterfalls, then stopped at the gas station so G could go pee, then drove back into Orleans, and went to Mandarin for dinner. Our new favourite spot. Though I didn't realize dinner buffet is $25 a person, and I am a huge waste of money to bring there right now haha...but G ate for $2, so it equalled out I guess!

Afterwards, we headed to Babies r Us up the road. I told Tyler I needed to pick up a few small things that I had left to buy, and he went crazy. He said he can't believe that he's having a girl now--that it doesn't feel real to him. So buying some girl stuff makes it feel more official? I don't know, and I wasn't complaining. He was speaking my language. spending money at babies r us is my all time fav. If I could move in there, I would be a happy lady haha.

So we bought:
-A soft Koala blanket
-some hooded Koala towels
- 2 packages of receiving blankets
-a few outfits
- a huge box of diaper genie eco-friendly refills
-10 pairs of scratch mitts
- 2 packages of socks
-a bath thermometer
-ear thermometer refills
-penaten
- some car shades
- a cute pair of shoes (like we needed more shoes. but he liked them)
- a big pump of bath soap
- big baby lotion
- 2 packages of soothies soothers (the only ones we used for g, so we are following suit)
- a gum/tooth brush for her
- a package of fabric baretts
- 6 headbacks

So now I have another load of laundry to do. And I'm not at all sad about it :)

Afterwards, we were heading home, so we drove by his moms house (it was on the way, I swear we aren't stalkers haha), and noticed they had two of his step-dad's friends over (one was our home inspector, and another guy from the derby. And tyler knows they are working on the backyard, so he wanted to stop in to see if they needed help). Turns out they were not doing that, but just finished eating and were visiting outside, so we hung out on the back deck, g made some new big tough guy friends (lol), and we headed home around 8:30. Granny had bought him a nice big red stegosaurus "Gund" corduroy dinosaur for his room. He loved it, and was happy about the surprise (probably especially after a trip to babies r us and him getting nothing but a kinder egg ahahaha).

Once we got home, Garett went right to bed. We are all caught up on Scandal, so I convinced Tyler to start "Arrested Development". I used to love this show, and I knew he would love it. He finally said yes, and we got the first two episodes in. He laughed quite a bit, so I think he's on board :)

We were both up for a while after lights were out. We had heartburn--mine pregnancy related--his sympathy related, I guess? haha He rubbed my feet a bit and we went to sleep.

This morning we all slept in a bit, he brought Garett to daycare, and then him and the guys came back to the house. I did some laundry, and watched two episodes of Secret Life of the American Teenager while they worked outside. I had my OB appointment at 9:30, so afterwards, I came into work! It's SO quiet in here.

My Director brought in some treats for lunch, so I'll probably indulge in some homemade pie and squares after I eat. Hey, what's another pound or two, right? LOL

I think for dinner we will BBQ some turkey burgers (or cook them in the cast iron skillet. mmm), and just put some laundry away. I would like to re-organize some of the kitchen cabinets, but I might save that for when I am off.

I planned a few things yesterday to do while G and I are off together for 2 weeks. I hope we get through the list! :) He will love everything on it so much, I just worry about my energy level in mid afternoon, lol.

Happy Tuesday, everyone!!

The haul
