Thoughts on Thursday

- My friend from work texted me last night that uber eats has been available for almost a month in Ottawa, and somehow we are just finding out about it? We downloaded the app, and decided to order from the fish market for lunch (my fav: spicy crab cakes), and get some cupcake lounge for dessert, lol. You open the app, place your order, and your card is on file (we used hers since I still don't trust technology that much lol) and an uber driver picks it up and brings it to you. For a limited time, the delivery is free ( I assume normally you would pay also for their drive).

-Tomorrow after work, I will have some downtime before our late dinner date at 7PM. I am looking forward to getting out of the house for some quiet time. Maybe a virgin Caesar or daiquiri also :)

-I am supposed to come in on July 4 as my last day (it's a Monday--and I booked the rest of the week off as vacation before my mat leave), but now I'm thinking, maybe I'll just include Monday, so that June 30 before the long weekend is my last day in the office. If that's the case, then I am in my final month here for a year and a bit! :) It's always exciting leaving out the doors and knowing next time you walk back in, you will have another baby! :) haha

- I am happy with the rain in the forecast today. Our lawn needs it badly, and since it was sprayed, and it kills the weeds and stuff, it can't effectively do the rest of its job without a good watering.  Also, I enjoy overcast days when I'm stuck inside. It gives me a warm cozy feeling--the same as snowy days :)

- Tyler and I agree we have been feeling like we're in a funk lately. Just so much mundane stuff. He is working insane hours, and I am alone with G a lot, and same recipes, same bedtime routines. We have to mix it up a bit. We agree that the house getting decorated slowly helps--like it feels more like a house when its done--but we need to figure something out to make it more exciting at home lol. We do a lot of activities outside of the house--we aren't much for just sitting around when we have spare time, so I think we still haven't grown accustomed to living in town and having more downtime.

- There was a shooting across the street from tylers store last night (well, early this morning). I heard on my way into work that it was closed off on the road right in front of his store, so I called him to tell him maybe let his employees know that they may not be able to get in. But then there was another report that it was opened, and only the section behind the building it happened was taped off...it was behind a barber/in the parking lot of the retirement home. People are crazy! At least he's alive and cooperating with the investigation. A lot of the shootings that have happened, you read that they are not cooperating with the police.

- My boss at work commented on my belly this morning. She said what I'm wearing really accents it. That usually the belly is pretty well hidden and she can't tell, but I am looking really pregnant today. Tighter fitting clothes are a curse. Because then everyone touches you and comments. I hate being touched by people who have not been invited to touch the belly lol

-I think when I return to work I will have an ergonomic assessment done on myself. Seems like everyone and their dog are having them done, and I'm really starting to feel like I may need it--small pains and aches are starting, which is probably from the pregnancy, but it can't hurt to be aware of it later--I won't always be young and can work to prevent problems instead of deal with them after they happen.

-I'm annoyed at our benefits through work for glasses. I think that they should alter the eligible amounts for children, whose eyes change so much and who are a little rougher on their glasses. Garett has the miraflex glasses, and we always get the scratch/dent protected lenses also, but the first pair he had he was REALLY rough on, because he was two. Then we also ordered a replacement pair of lenses after a few months since he used to pop the lenses out and BITE them. Then when he grew more accustomed to loving them and was taking care of them himself, we bought him his new pair. But our benefits are only good for $275 every 2.5 years or something...like seriously? That's nothing when it comes to glasses, let alone us buying two pairs and a replacement lens in 2 years. We couldn't even claim the second pair at all. Oh well...there's worse things in life, but I just think they should change it for kids :)

- Excited for my half day at work on Tuesday. I get to see baby girl on the screen again (and maybe seeing her profile so late in the game, we will have a better handle on a name), and then I can spend some time on my own before grabbing G.

- What are you thinking about today?
