Fri-YAY

I don't LOVE to use the term "Fri-YAY", but I do love that it's finally Friday, and that this week has just been one long string of days that dragged on!! lol This is what happens when you grow to look forward to weekends--trying to cram in as much fun with G as we can before little missy comes along.

Yesterday, Garett was wanted at daycare later than usual for one of the little girls second birthday parties. She is obsessed with Frozen, so I guess they did some frozen themed kids yoga (which Garett showed us all evening), and made a frozen themed cake.

Tyler had finished work a bit early, so when I got home he was in the midst of painting the powder room. I love coming home to surprises like this. So I quickly made my list of what I still needed to buy for the main floor (it was just the right amount of motivation, I guess! lol) and think I will tackle a room a day or something once I'm off, and take G around shopping (he loves being my home décor shopping buddy, which I love :)).

Afterwards, we headed out to grab Garett together. All the parents showed up for the singing of "happy birthday" and the gift opening. So G and the other little girl helped the birthday girl open her gift (a big Elsa doll with a small olaf stuffy)--we would have been there all night waiting for her, because the provider also got her a frozen card that played "Let it Go" and she pushed the button probably 20 times and was content to just sing along with that , lol. They had some cake, we visited briefly all together and then we headed out.

We stopped at the store to buy Garett his big boy underwear :( He has been wearing training pants, which are more like padded underwear, and I thought it was time to switch him over, and make it more fun with characters and stuff for him. He picked a pack of bubble guppies and a pack with tools all over them. He wanted a dinosaur pack too but they only had 4T and those suckers would definitely not stay on his frame. So we washed those all when we got home and he spent the evening lounging in a pair of Bubble Puppy ones. Pretty proud, the boy is. He was strutting around in them this morning too and I wish the daycare provider luck at getting him to keep his pants on today, lol.

We stopped and bought Tyler a new pair of running shoes, and a headset for his computer also and headed home.

Garett insisted on leftovers of the pesto we made (he loves the stuff!) and Tyler and I ate easy food. Then Garett had a popsicle, then some cheese and crackers, and some carrots and dip--he was a bottomless pit last night. I can't complain because some nights it's hard to get him to eat a substantial amount at dinner time, and grazes all night, leaving me wondering if he's starving.

We did baths (he was covered in bingo dabber ink from craft time), and played a little bit before he turned in at 8:45.

Once he was gone to bed, Tyler and I did a little research. We think Dave the snail is deader than a doorknob. He hasn't moved in the last two days. We asked how to take care of him, and the "specialist" told us all he needs (because he is so small) is to feed on the algae in Thomas' tank. But I think because we keep his tank too clean, he didn't have enough to eat? Trusty google told me that sometimes if they need more, that you should give them small algae tablets to eat...this would have been good to know a few days ago! So we might have to go back and buy another snail to replace dave so G doesn't notice :( Apparently they start to smell pretty bad when they die, and we haven't noticed a smell yet--so he might also be in a hibernation type mode--so I am so sad to flush him in case he isn't dead. THIS is why I hate fishtank stuff. Unnecessary worry. This was supposed to be Tyler and G's thing, and here I am worrying about it!! lol

COME ON 3:00!!! :) Happy Friday, everyone!!! Enjoy your weekends :)
