Sunny Friday

We made it! Another Friday on the horizon :) I'm not going to lie though. I woke up at 5:30 this morning and genuinely thought that it was Saturday and rolled over for a minute,  only to realize--wait...no. Oops! Oh well. I was up early, and dressed, so it gave me time to get Garett ready and cuddle a bit before we left also :) He has been wearing his underwear to daycare this week, and doing great. So proud of him. We were done at home (with the exception of #2 most times, and nighttime, obviously), but teaching him to use toilets when he's in different places has posed to be quite the challenge. He only likes our bathrooms, apparently lol. So this was a huge step :)

Last night we ordered in Pizza at like 8:00. We had a salad earlier, but it just didn't cut it. Garett had some salad, but also I made him some noodles with some frozen meat sauce I had made. He still inhaled a piece whenever it arrived. He immediately passed out for the night after he ate that, so Tyler and I watched 2 episodes of Scandal and took our showers and turned in for the night also.

Tonight is my dinner out with girlfriends, and am looking forward to it (obviously, since I keep saying it haha). We were going to do something fun, but we opted for just dinner, since it's been so long the three of us have gotten together (one girl doesn't work with us anymore so we hardly see her), we just wanted to be able to chat.

We were planning a quiet weekend (*cough* I was planning a quiet weekend *cough*), but Tyler is a hawk when it comes to the event's that I click "interested" on on facebook. Lo and behold there are three things this weekend I clicked "going to" on, and he is now on board that train. I do love when we have a weekend alone to spend as a little family (especially since our days with just G are numbered), but hoping that I have time to deal with the chaos my house is in right now, and maybe get a bit more painting done/hang the new curtain rods and curtains, do some laundry, etc lol.

Saturday, we were thinking of maybe hitting up a fun fair close by. Garett is really into the games at fairs/arcades, etc lately, so that might be a good way to spend some time with him. Grab some candy apples and cotton candy and head home for the day :)

Sunday there are two things--the farmers market right by our house is opening for the season, and we want to hit that up to grab some stuff and see what it's all about. We have never been to that one, so we aren't sure what they have there or how big it is.

The other event on Sunday is the firefighters day at the Cumberland museum (not too far of a drive), where there's tons of kids activities, and they let them get dressed up as firefighters and take turns (with the help of the Ottawa firemen) spraying the hose, doing tug o wars, etc. Garett enjoys these kinds of events, and burns off some of the extra energy he has to spare, so we will probably go to that. It's only on from 10-4, so that's fine :)

I would like to try a new breakfast joint this weekend too--we love our old standards, but it's time for a change.

I think I have decided on ending June 30 instead of July 4 at work. I was feeling a huge sense of guilt over that one extra day. My coworker planned her vacation around being here for my last day, and now she will not be here. And I was of the thought of--who cares, it's one more day, just do it. But Tyler and everyone else has convinced me to just suck it up and do it, lol. Like I mean--who goes back to work for just the Monday after a long weekend, just to be off for a year after? Apparently not this girl. So the exciting part of that is that I now have less than 4 weeks left :) And strewn about in there, I have my ultrasound and 2 other doctors appointments still lol. I cant believe how quickly it's coming!

Tyler and I are planning a trip in March after the baby is born, and will be 8 months. I'm going to apply for Garett's passport as soon as I finish working, and decide if we want to bring him (or can even bring him, since some of the resorts are adults only). We have to use up our "free" trip that we got with the purchase of our membership to the Amresorts by March 31, 2017, so we are in full swing of picking which country/string of resorts (Amresorts are Zoetry Spa and wellness resorts, Breathless, Sunscape, Dreams, Now, and Secrets). Each one has many locations, and there are always new ones opening (guaranteed 2 new resorts a year). It's like house hunting--half the fun is just looking through pictures and picking a place lol.

How was everyone's week? What are your plans for the weekend?

  1. I get the bathroom thing. I am lucky, when Tanner got the idea, he has never had an accident and was wearing underwear right away...he never did wear anything to bed BUT we have to tell this kid to pee, he will go all day without peeing. The issue we have between home and other places is the positioning. At home, he pees standing up...but it's not very graceful looking, he basically leans forward and rests his face/head on the toilet seat that is up...GROSS...so in public places he doesn't do this but when he sits, he has to take everything off from the waist down or he'll pee all over himself. At daycare though, he always sits down for some reason. Strange!
