Tuesday Nights of Summer
Yesterday was my last day in the office with my Director. We shed a few tears on the way out--she cried harder than me, but that's neither here nor there, lol. Since she will be missing my last day, she brought in an ice cream pie--it had like a shortbread like thick crust with icecream in the middle that she mixed with crushed oreos and cookies n' cream chocolate bars, and topped with a caramel sauce. I only had a little piece. It was so rich. So good.

I carried out my last full box from work (I have a few little things to bring when I leave on Thursday, but that's it! and headed to get G. When we got home, there was a little parcel waiting--another pair of baby shoes from zulily had arrived, and I am obsessed with them lol

The guys had finished framing and prepping the front walk/driveway/back patio/shed pad yesterday, so Tyler is hoping that the storms they are calling for today are not happening so that they could at least get the front portion poured. The back can wait until Monday, no biggie.
Ty was home pretty early, and we knew that with Obama coming in today, a lot of the air traffic was going to be landed, so they were trying to move flights in and out at a rapid pace. We turned on his station he listens to the air traffic controllers on, and our favourite run way to watch was opened and very busy. He was there the day prior and watched some military planes land, so he wanted to grab some new high-quality binoculars so he could see them better.
We ran to Canadian Tire and he bought these super powerful binoculars that are more powerful than some telescopes, lol. We got a good deal on them at least! We picked up some Wendy's for a quick dinner and headed out to the airport to eat in the back of the truck and watch.
We saw at least 10 planes landing, and 4 take off. It was insanely busy. As soon as one would land, you could see lights for the next plane coming in the skies for their landing approach. I've never seen it so busy!
The boys had a blast. Garett of course only wanted to use daddy's "noculars" and was fascinated by how huge things were. He waved frantically at most of the planes, and got to see lots of firetruck/ambulance action since one of the planes that came in was a plane that had a man having a heart attack on it. Unfortunately, Garett got a lot of joy from the emergency vehicles. Didn't hear anything in the news, so I assume the guy was ok :)
Tyler listening for the announcement of what the next incoming plane is.

G brought some toys to play in the sand in between landings.

Sharing the binoculars

Garett's turn!
Afterwards, we headed home, did baths quickly and it was bedtime. Garett was sound asleep by 8:45. We only managed to get through half an episode (10 mins lol) of arrested development, and off to sleep we went also. We were all beat, I guess!
Happy hump day, everyone!!
