Friday Random

This is my last Friday at work for over a year! It still feels pretty surreal. Saying "June 30" in response to people asking when I'm done still seems far away!

Yesterday was our Divisional day, and it was amazing! We set up lots of fun activities and had awards for most spirited, had a clinical psychologist come in and talk about stress management and depression while we ate lunch--she kept it very light hearted, which is nice since we were all sitting out in our Directors backyard stuffing our faces with delicious food.

My Director surprised me with a gift of my choosing from our gov't iboutique, so I will have to order that later and when it arrives, it'll be an excuse to come and visit :)

The only thing is with the breeze, you forgot how hot it was! Much of my day was spent in the shade, but I still didn't apply sunscreen as much as I should have. So today, because of it, I have a sunburn on my face/chest/arms. oops! I have been lathering on aloe, and keeping it hydrated helps fade it faster. It's already much better than it was yesterday--so hopefully it'll be a rockin' tan by next week! lol

We drew out the lines on the yard and front last night for our new stamped concrete widened driveway/back patio. I am excited! Hoping to have it all done before the sprinkle I'm hosting with my friends on July 10. Then we will have the option of sitting out on a nice back patio instead of furniture just strewn about in the grass. Not to mention the excitement of not having to cope with winter with a small driveway and parking bans!

Last night we ordered in pizza, wings and deep fried pickles. I was home late, and when I got home the boys were washing daddy's trucks and hadn't gone inside to start cooking anything. So that was that! We ate late, around 7 after G grazed on goldfish, yogurt and a banana prior to it arriving, so he only picked off olives and ate those, and took a few bites of a pizza. What a kid! He was passed out by 8:30, and Tyler and I were both exhausted--we were in bed by 9!

We must have been tired--both of our alarms went off at 6:30 today, and we each slept in for about 10 minutes. He was just getting up as I was on my way out this morning, lol.

There is NO ONE at work today it feels like, other than me and my Director. Traffic was non-existent, and I got a nice big breakfast on the way in. The only thing about being done work next week is that I miss my favourite time of year. I love coming into work in the summers when it's so quiet, and seeing how much faster my commute can get! lol On a bad day, it takes me about 16 minutes now. On a good day, about 12. I think this morning it was closer to 10. It feels surreal being that close to work still!

Not sure what our plans are this weekend. The Dragon Boat Festival is happening here until Sunday, so I wanted to hit that up for a while with Ty and G since the weather is supposed to be so nice. But other than that (and maybe painting the hallway/stairwell, finally lol), we don't have many plans :) We are all caught up on housework (I have a load of sheets to do laundry wise, but everything else was just cleaned/swept/mopped/scrubbed). Garage is cleaned, cars are washed...feels weird being caught up! lol

I bought the new season of Pretty Little Liars, so I watched episode 1 this morning when I got to work (another reason I love summer lol). And I got one episode of Secret Life of the American Teenager in last night while I was in the bath :)

I spent almost an hour on my exercise ball bouncing around last night. Baby girl is SO low and there is so much pressure already. Glad to be done work next week because walking up and down the stairs in the parking garage, and being on my feet too long is starting to hurt! She is head down now, which is good, but holy moly honey-girl!

I downloaded a bunch of Shaggy songs last night, so jamming out in my office this morning LOL

Did I mention Garett is totally toilet trained now, aside from bedtime? He has taken up #2 on the toilet with the help of our chart, and a toy for every 10 poops. haha. I'll do this a few times, and then by then it should just be a given he will poop in the toilet. He wears underwear for naps now, and we will start working on bedtime once I am off, but boys apparently sometimes aren't fully toilet trained through the night until about 6-7 years old--at 6, only 85% of boys have night time control according to our doctor. Crazy! So I guess he's doing good!

I think that's about it from my end of things! Happy Friday everyone. Please enjoy the beautiful weather coming our way!! Perfect time to be out and about with the family creating memories! :)

    1. It is long! But I'm on season 3, about halfway through. It's hard to get through if you can only watch one episode at a time though, I find, so I try to save it when I can binge and watch 3 or 4 lol..oh good, do you like Drop dead diva? I loved it! I have to catch up on Grey's and the 100 and Walking Dead--I feel so busy with tv shows! haha
