Life update

I'm still here. Just been too busy nesting and spending all the time I can with my boys to write much!  Things around the house are ready now.  Everything has pretty much been yanked out , cleaned, cleaned on and around and put back. I organized all the dressers, cupboards , drawers, shelves, closets.  Laundry is all done and put away and I have lots of detergent stocked up.  Dishes are all done and bottles are washed and ready to be sterilized when we get home. I have run a few loads of our new electric sterilizer so it's all clean and ready to go. All the baby stuff is assembled and ready. Stroller , car seat, bouncer, playmat, etc. We have lots of toys waiting to be opened, and lots of things ready for her to love. I got the bassinet cleaned and set up with the wedge pillow and ready for her to sleep :) Floors have been swept and swiffered and mopped and vaccuumed and mopped some more. Bedding throughout the house has been changed and changed and changed.  A ...

Wanderlust

Image
Garett, Your love for adventure never falters. You wake up most days declaring you want to go explore somewhere new. To see someplace different. You make life exciting for us, and take us outside of our ordinary routines. I hope you never lose your sense of adventure, of fun, of wanderlust. Dream big, little boy. Mommy has high hopes for you. My dreams are your dreams. When I grow up, I want to be like YOU.  This weekend was a fun one. Even with my current state (vegetative at times, I'm so uncomfortable, lol), I still want to experience everything. To see Garett's face when he sees something amazing. Friday night we had to go buy some cat food , so we had plenty in case I had the baby this weekend (bahaaha hahahaha). We made another purchase also--a cat tower. So far, fail. We will need to rub it with catnip to get them interested, I think. So far, they only sleep on the bottom lol. But Steve jumped up momentarily and him and g had a Mexican standoff lol, pretty cute We popped...

Hanging up the shoes

Image
I'm just about ready to throw in the towel. To hang up my big girl clothes and shoes and succumb to a life of lounging.  I have akmosy my entire to do list completed, and thank god for that because UGH. Doing things while trapped in a whales body is not fun. Today, I took Garett to daycare, mailed my sprinkle thank you cards, went to walmart for snacks for the hospital bag, and some milk and juices and went home. I planted myself on my bed, drifting in and out of sleep and watching secret life of the American teenager.  I picked up Garett at 3:30 and knew Tyler was out until about 6 for estimates, so we picked up Wendy's on the way home. I'm sick of cooking and cleaning up after.  I'm just so done. Come on baby.

Rough nights

Image
We don't have many bad nights sleep wise in this house (because of Garett at least), and I must say since he was 7 weeks old, that's been the way. He's my sleeper.  But every once in a while he has a "night". Last night was his one night out f the blue. I woke up at 1:45 am to pee. It was almost perfect time because that's when he woke up first. He had peed through his diaper (which lately he's been waking up in the morning with dry diapers , so that was weird ). So , I changed his sheets and laid him back down. I gave him some milk since I thought his belly was getting empty.  30 minutes later, he cried again because he spilled said milk. So I changed his sheets again. He was pretty awake by then, so I turned on his fish light and said goodnight again.  Then he fell asleep I think. For about 40 mins it was quiet. Then a howl. "MOMMYYYY!!!" He had a bad dream. I knew it was all over, so I let him come back to our bed. He proceeded to toss and tur...

Doctors appointments are painful now

Image
This morning , I Woke up at 5:30 before anyone else for some reason . Tys alarm went off at 6 and he was gone by 6:15. Garett joined the world of the living at 7 am, so we got dressed and headed to daycare.  I went home, had a quick bite and had a shower before heading to the doctors.  He did an exam on me, and I am 2cm dilated now, and he said the baby is about 7-7.5 lbs now he assumes. He was hoping the baby was a little lower so he could book me in for induction this weekend, but she still needs to drop a bit more for a safe easy induction. So he tried to help her along by pushing down quite a bit. Ouch. I have my next appointment next Tuesday again if nothing happens before then, and he will hopefully have me follow him to the hospital after that, but who knows. If she's still not ready, she's not ready. I really wanted him to not be gone when I delivered :( but I have a sneaking suspicion she will just be that stubborn Lolol  Whatever he did today, it's really got me...

First day "off" on my own

Image
Monday was back to the grind of daycare for G. I let him sleep until 7:30 and went in to wake him. He did NOT want to wake up, but once he was ready and in the door at daycare, it was like no time had passed. I didn't even get my kiss and hug goodbye :( I headed to grab some breakfast and went to tys store. We are breakfast together , and I called medisys for my vaccination record to be sent to me. What a pain. Also, an additional $20 for it-- money grab ! Lol but for the price of one, I also had them send me tylers so our doc could have it.  I headed out and went to Walmart for some diapers and thank you cards. Then I went to get a mani/pedi I stopped at toys r us for some gifts --first I needed a gift for the baby to give to g (I want him to feel included in the whole process ) and a little something for him to bring his sister :)  I came home , had some lunch and watched Secret Life of the American Teenager.  I had to get in touch with service Canada to see if they got...

What's in my hospital bag ? Round 2

Image
Well I packed most of my hospital bag today. I have a short list of last second stuff to pack up on the way out the door for us all but other than that, we are all set ! 1)a comfy outfit to come home in. I opted for a plain tunic black tshirt and maternity jogging pants  2) 2 outfits for baby girl 3) receiving blankets for the trip home 4)some nursing nightgowns from when I had G, big underwear and nursing bras 5) a towel. Because hospital towels SUCK 6)tucks wipes. Just in case pushing results in some unwanted guests  7) my go to huge always pads. I fell in love with them after g. I like to wear them at the hospital also. I hate the set up they give you of the mesh underwear and stuff shoved inside of it haha 8)hospital essentials to make me feel like a human: mini shampoo, body wash, toothpaste. A toothbrush, hairbrush, deodorant , lip balm (a MUST. it's so dry in there!). Lotion, face wipes , elastics, a loofa, lanolin cream and a razor.  9) nursing pillow. Tyler likes...

Weekend recap

Image
On Friday, we woke up at 6:30 with g. Tyler left for work and g and I got right to it! We made breakfast and then our icing for the lemon curd cake. I cut the cakes in half and did the butter cream/curd layers and iced the whole thing. We did dishes, switched the laundry over, made gs bed and cleaned his room and bathroom. Played some serious hide and seek, ran around in the basement. We had a snack and watched some cartoons, then made my bed, put away laundry, vacuumed upstairs and the stairwell , mopped the main floor, etc etc etc. We had a very busy morning ! Lol We went to Walmart for a few things, met Tyler at Five Guys for lunch , then went to  landmark cinemas to see " The secret life of pets".  Since we bought the tickets on Thursday,( and it was assigned seating ) we got the seats we picked. It was gs first movie in the theatre. It was touch and go at the start since previews were 25 mins long ,(Wtf?) but he laughed through most of the movie. Half way through, he dec...

Baking, storms and shopping!

Image
Thursday we were all up at 6:30 as Tyler was leaving. We (gman and I) had a quick breakfast in bed and relaxed until about 8. Got dressed and headed to Walmart for some groceries and the stuff we needed still for our dinner tonight.    G got a new stingray toy thing from finding dory that his cousin has and we hightailed it out of there to beat the rain. We didn't realize none of the little toys that go inside came with it , so we have to head to toys r us today again lol We unloaded the groceries and organized the fridge and cupboards in order to get it all put away. We had a quick snack and headed out to the movie theatre. Garett wants to see "The secret life of pets" so we headed over and met Tyler there. Unfortunately it was sold out for that time, so we bought our seats for today instead , grabbed some food and headed home.  Once we finished our food, g and I started baking. We made a pumpkin poke cake first, so had to make the pumpkin cake, white chocolate pudding ,...

Hump dayeeee

Image
Today was a tough one. I was up at 5:30AM because I was stressed about Tyler having to call the concrete place at 5:45 (he's bad at waking up lol). He woke up at 6 and cancelled the load. The day was calling for raining way too much heat to pour his job. Which meant family time today :) G woke up at 7:15. We lounged for a bit and then got ready to go to Coras for breakfast. Once our bellies were full,  we headed to Walmart to get me the last of the stuff I needed for the hospital bags. Another lady saw the pads I was buying and flashed her pregnant belly to me too and spoke knowingly of them, as we commiserated with how far along and uncomfortable we both were. She wasn't due for her second until October though. Poor lady! When we got home, Ty went to the store to get a bit of paperwork done there, while g and I tidied up a bit, vacuumed, had a snack and caught some cartoons.  When Tyler got home, G took a bath with his new set of bath colour changer tablets.  we headed o...

Vacation life.

This week started off well. Time is going by faster now , and have been able to keep Garett occupied well, without exhausting myself too much lol. Monday morning we got up and decided to head to see my parents for the day. We played a lot and headed home around 3. When we got home, Tyler was here, so we ate a quick supper (though I wanted Pizza Hut, we didn't get it. But I need it soon lol), and headed out. We had to deposit a cheque at the bank and then headed to grab some slushies and to a quick estimate with ty. We drove around for a bit and went home. It was nearly bedtime , so we all took baths and off to bed we went ! G had slept all the way home from Cornwall , so I didn't know if he would go down at the normal time. But, thankfully, I was wrong :) Today we were up pretty early. I woke at 5:30 am for some reason and everyone else followed around 6:30. Tyler left for work, g and I had breakfast and we packed up to head to my mother in laws.we played for a bit and i headed...

Sprinkle shower

Image
Sunday was the day of my sprinkle. We all woke up around 7, and while Tyler organized and cleaned the garage, with G being in and out between us, I did dishes, swept, mopped, made beds and vaccuumed.  Afterwards I had a bit of time to relax before I had to shower and get ready. I was feeling pretty sore and having some Braxton Hicks, so needed to just put up my feet and drink some water.  People started arriving around 12:45, and some came and went, some came later. One thing was for sure. There was a lot of children lol. Garett was pretty much a ghost since he was in his element, playing with everyone, and not so much with mommy lol. I thought I would have much more help opening the gifts, but they were all too busy for me! Haha  We bbqd and ate and opened gifts and visited and had cake. It was a good time :)  In typical Amy fashion, I didn't get hardly any pictures, but tylers aunt insisted that she take a picture of me cutting the cake. So, here it is! Lol My sist...

Friday and Saturday. Busy errands !

Friday couldn't have come soon enough. I was absolutely pooped from the week. One more week home with g. It wouldn't be so bad if he didn't like to go out and do stuff so much, if I wasn't 36 weeks pregnant, and if it wasn't like 40 degrees all week lol. But enough complaining.  Friday we woke up around 7:45, had some breakfast and relaxed a bit. Soon after, we headed to the grocery store to pick up the hot dog buns for Sunday, and some more handsoap for Garett's washroom. (Random). While we were there, we ran into my mother in law, visited for a few minutes and then we went our separate ways. We brought our bags to the car and walked across the parking lot to go to the dollar store. We bought some serving spoons and some more stickers for the potty chart we were going to make.  Pretty much right after we got home, it started raining. But not enough to accumulate so g could jump in the puddles, so we just had a snack and watched cartoons.  We tidied up the main ...

Thursday --errands, heat and an early day!

Image
Yesterday was pretty laid back. It was way too hot to function outside--for me anyways.  G and I slept in a bit, until around 8, for up, had some scrambled eggs, toast and strawberries. We decided to get dressed and do our errands before it got too sunny and hot. Boy, I'm glad we did! It was so nice out until about 20 minutes before we got home , lol. We popped into the bank and G learned about ATM machines--longest ATM trip in life , but he enjoyed it haha. Afterwards we ran over to Walmart to pick up a ton of hot dogs and drinks for Sunday.  The lady ahead of us at the cash was trying to use one of those similac cheques you get in the mail, and the lady working the cash had ZERO clue on how to redeem it. Fun. I always pick that line Lolol Once we finally got out of there, we made a trip to Toys R Us. I bought the baby a few little toys--her Sophie the giraffe and car seat toys just to have on hand so I feel more prepared lol. I also bought her the sleeper I want to bring her...

Hump day - family visit and outside play!

Image
It's 9:35 pm. I can't sleep. Everyone else in the house is dead to the world , and me? Well, I can't shut it off quite as easily as them. This is the time of day I ponder up my to do lists. When I stress the most about things. When I think of everything I need to do, want to do and should do. I wish I could close my eyes and be asleep. The guys in this house are so good at that. Asleep as soon as they close their eyes. A trait I wish I could inherit by association lol Today was a pretty laid back morning. We found out my sister , my nephew and my dad were coming for a visit. We went to the grocery store for a few things just in case.  When we got home, Garett stripped naked and declared "I'm sleeping until my pa gets here!"  Climbed into his bed, and for all of 30 seconds , I though he was actually serious lol They stayed for a few hours to play , and we ordered in some Swiss chalet.  Garett was beyond exhausted when they left , but continued playing anyways. ...

Nursery progress

Image
There's still a bit I need to do in this room. I need to figure out a dim stand up lamp situation, and decor for the hutch and other wall and put a new light switch cover on, and get some faix wood white blinds to lock out light totally ,but since baby girl will sleep in our room in the bassinet for a few months, I am not too worried and this is pretty well as finished as it will get before her arrival, I think! In the closet , I put wall to wall all the little shelves g used to have in his toy room. This helps for more storage under her hanging items. Good for blanket/towel/toy storage, etc. I also have my breast pump bag in there and all the extra storage bags and whatnot.  Until I find a better spot, I have some of her stuff on the hutch, but also a basket for hats/headbands and a basket for shoes  The dresser has her pants and stuff Here is the painting my mom did. I love it :) it's hard to see the details, but they're like blossoming leaves. A bit of pink in there. And...
