Life update

I'm still here. Just been too busy nesting and spending all the time I can with my boys to write much! 

Things around the house are ready now. 

Everything has pretty much been yanked out , cleaned, cleaned on and around and put back. I organized all the dressers, cupboards , drawers, shelves, closets. 

Laundry is all done and put away and I have lots of detergent stocked up. 

Dishes are all done and bottles are washed and ready to be sterilized when we get home. I have run a few loads of our new electric sterilizer so it's all clean and ready to go.

All the baby stuff is assembled and ready. Stroller , car seat, bouncer, playmat, etc. We have lots of toys waiting to be opened, and lots of things ready for her to love. I got the bassinet cleaned and set up with the wedge pillow and ready for her to sleep :)

Floors have been swept and swiffered and mopped and vaccuumed and mopped some more.

Bedding throughout the house has been changed and changed and changed. 

A ton of baths have been had. 

Baskets have been placed around with diapers and wipes and lotions.

I put a new lamp on my nightstand for when I have to wake to pump or feed or soothe.

I made a basket with my pump, breasts pads and lotion, etc

All the hospital bags are packed. We got the highlighters and Pens shaped like needles for the nurses and a duffle bag of snacks just in case it's a late deliver, or a longer stay than we anticipate. 

A huge grocery trip has been done. Food is stocked up, cleaning supplies, paper towel , toilet paper, cat food--it's all here and ready.

I'm stocked up on everything I need for after labour. Epsom salts, tucks, huge pads, etc. 

I am mentally prepared. We have a plan in place for Garett. I am READY. Due date in T-5 days. 

I went to the doctor on Tuesday. We were 3cm dilated and about 50% effaced. But she wasn't low enough to safely or smoothly induce without being confident I wouldn't wind up needing a c section. So we made another appt for Monday morning. My OB goes to France Monday night, so if she doesn't decide to come a few days early, it will be his replacement taking charge. She learned under him and is very good--but just adds a bit more stress to my life lol I want him there :(. But such is life!

Tyler and I have been sneaking in meals out together during the day alone as much as we can. Breakfasts and lunches. And then enjoying nice big dinners around the table in the evening.

I finished watching Secret life of the American teenager, finished the making a murderer mini series and have started orange is the new black. We are two episodes away from being caught up on the 100 also. Very productive haha

Garett wakes up every morning now and says "is it time for you to go to the hospital, mommy?"  He is getting excited and anxious. It randomly affects his sleep some nights now. So I'm hoping that calms down once the baby is here. He said she can sleep in a crib in his room and he will wake me up when she cries. He just doesn't think she needs to sleep in our room. A bit jealous haha.

The Phoenix system has managed to screw up my ROE being processed on time with service Canada. But I guess I shouldn't complain when there's people that haven't been paid since April. I'll get it worked out, but they may be left waiting three more months for compensation , apparently ! It's just frustrating when you don't know who should be yelled at :)

I have the gifts wrapped for the kids. Garett got a present from his baby sister that he will get when we get home from the hospital, and we bought a present from g to the baby as well. Maybe he will feel more included that way :)

Sleep has pretty much eluded me for the last week. I am feeling so huge and uncomfortable and no matter how I lay, I'm irritated that I can't fall asleep. Heartburn is pretty well 24/7 and I've started feeling sick quite often again. My body is ready lol

Other than that we haven't been up to much. Staying close to home. It feels close now. And that is not meant to jinx me! Lol
