Canada Day recap


We were up bright and early for canada day. We all had a terrible nights sleep, so I was hoping for a nap by 9am LOL

We decided we were going to go to the Navan fair grounds events (since the usual Petrie island events were relocated). We figured out that the event at Navan was even cancelled, and there was only a small event happening at mer bleu. We drove by at 10:30 (was supposed to start at 11), and they weren't done setting up yet. So we decided to head to cornwall.

We went right to the big park they were doing their stuff at since at noon a Hercules plane was flying over.pretty cool. We got some food, fed some zoo animals, had G's cheek painted, went for a walk by the water. At 1 he sat through a little rays reptile zoo presentation. They brought a tarantula, kimono dragon, python, and  crocodile to show and discuss. Then the kids got a chance to touch the animals. G only wanted to touch the crocodile so waited to do that. His best buddy (cousin) showed up and they went on the bouncy castle, and we spent alotttttt of time waiting in line for icecream/slushies. 

We decided to head back to my parents place for a visit and we went swimming. We were supposed to head to a friends house for a potluck for dinner, but the storm put a damper on it, so we stayed and had some Swiss chalet instead before heading home. 

When we got home , there was a pretty serious storm on the horizon, so we just relaxed. G was in bed pretty early, so I had a bath once the warnings ended. 

My skim is peeling now from so many days in the sun, but very worth it :)

Life Lately

-Hosting Bearbrook Ladies night two weekends ago was wonderful! I put out a full charcuterie spread, made a mint/cranberry/grapefruit drink to share, and all of us received a tarot card reading, palm read and a facial read. Pretty much the reoccurring consensus between all three reads (it was two different people doing it) was that my heart and mind live in a state of conflict, but that it works for me to live in a state of balance. -Garett went on his first friend play date ever , and he had so much fun. It was his two best friends that left daycare to start school last year. -happy that while Garett was at his play date, Tyler was home with Keira and I went out for a bit alone, then came home and we finished The Belko Experiment movie before I went to get him. (He was there for two hours) -sad that this week, Garett only has four days left at daycare :( Friday is Keira's first day, while I keep g home with me. Can't believe it's already almost school time!! -as a "goodbye" gift from g, we bought his daycare provider a necklace from peoples that is a heart with some Garnet stones in it (Garett's birthstone), to remember him by, and I ordered an Aukey essential oils diffuser , a doTERRA starter kit and an essential oils mixing guide recipe book thing. Friday fun!

Thank God it's Friday, and that this week is O-V-E-R!!! -It was a stressful week at home. Looking forward to a fun weekend! -I am being audited for child care expenses in 2018--I'm not the only one that thinks we pay too much money in child care! LOL...I submitted my receipts online (they are catching up with the times and it's great!) and turns out I actually underclaimed by a few hundred dollars haha. -Tonight is calm, just hanging at home with the kids. -Saturday I have an eyelash appointment at 2:00, and then we have a sitter coming at 6:00 so we can go to a Wine & Cheese night up the road at our friends house. -Sunday is a day of rest until the evening when Shan comes over and we head into town to go to the Trailer Park Boys Christmas at the NAC (I bought Tyler and I tickets as an early Christmas gift).
