Wanderlust

Garett,

Your love for adventure never falters. You wake up most days declaring you want to go explore somewhere new. To see someplace different. You make life exciting for us, and take us outside of our ordinary routines. I hope you never lose your sense of adventure, of fun, of wanderlust. Dream big, little boy. Mommy has high hopes for you. My dreams are your dreams. When I grow up, I want to be like YOU.

This weekend was a fun one. Even with my current state (vegetative at times, I'm so uncomfortable, lol), I still want to experience everything. To see Garett's face when he sees something amazing. Friday night we had to go buy some cat food , so we had plenty in case I had the baby this weekend (bahaaha hahahaha). We made another purchase also--a cat tower. So far, fail. We will need to rub it with catnip to get them interested, I think. So far, they only sleep on the bottom lol. But Steve jumped up momentarily and him and g had a Mexican standoff lol, pretty cute

We popped into my mother in laws house to pick up the power drill thing Ty let them use, and Garett had a swimsuit there, so decided in bp wanted to go for a 30 min dip. He's a lover of the water, that's for sure.

Saturday we didn't do much in the morning. I was feeling quite stiff and tired. Tyler wanted me to take a nap, so him and g left around 3 for an adventure.

They went first to the pedestrian bridge near our house. Everytime we go by, g asks to go in it.  So finally , he went. They walked it twice lol

Then they headed to Petrie island to play in the sand, look at toads, wade in the water and fish off the shoreline. G was peeved he caught some weeds and lost a hook, but he had a great time. They stopped in at the beachside restaurant for some burgers, jerk chicken, rice and salad and came home around 7:15. 'Twas an early night and everyone slept like a log ( including me, for once!)

Sunday we were all up around 7:30. I made a quick breakfast of eggs and fruit, we all showered and headed out. We stopped for some gas, and g was so excited for the first stop, he couldn't get this grin off his precious face.

We went to see an old parked train. G fell asleep on the way there, and we rolled up beside it and said "Garett?"   When he opened his eyes he said "wowwww".  So cute.

He ran around it, touching it, climbing it a bit and looking at all the parts. He knew we were going to see it, so he picked his steam engine train shirt to wear for the day! Lol

When he finished there, we ran across the road to the big lighthouse. We taught him about lighthouses and let him explore there and climb around on the rocks at the base. He really enjoyed the rocks.

On the way back to the truck, he saw a big fat groundhog under a tree. His burrow was under the tree, so they got just close enough to see him inside.

We stopped at mcdonalds for some nice cold milkshakes and headed to the Mer Bleu Bog Conservation trails. We picked the end where the wooden trails were and just did a quick 2km loop. G walked/ran the entire way, but I'm glad we picked a short area for his and my sake lol. It's so beautiful and serene there though. I suspect me and baby will be visiting when I'm trying to lose a few pounds later lol

We saw lots of frogs and turtles and dragon flies, but nothing else. No ducks or anything! Was a quiet nature day, lol
As we were coming to the end, there was a chipmunk on the path, and he let G go right up to him!!

We drove around for an hour after since g fell asleep, then went home, grilled up some hot dogs, had a snack of those, watched the Lorax, had baths, and relaxed for a moment. We went to the grocery store to grab a few necessities, and some sweets. Garett went right to bed, we stayed up reading. Now it is 9:54 and I am turning in for the evening :)

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend as well!!
