Pumpkins!

Fall happenings are in full swing over here.

Since it was too cold and wet this weekend to take the kids out to the pumpkin patch for pictures , I just took pics of Keira with pumpkins instead.

Garett and I bought a few small pumpkins from the grocery store just to paint , and Tyler took him to the market to pick out some others to carve.

Here is Keira with the two big pumpkins Garett chose, and a green one (squash of sorts ?) that he wanted too

These were the first shoes I bought from baby gap for Keira before she was born when I first learned I was pregnant. So sweet seeing her wearing them :)

Here's the painted pumpkins. The plan was to write everyone's names on them and little pictures. Mine was done. But Garett took charge of the other three. He wanted to paint Keira's for her after I wrote her name. It's a conglomeration of all the colours, and he painted over her name haha. I wrote Garett on his and painted a heart like he asked, then he painted a design. Daddy painted his and then Garett said "can I put some green on it?" And ty said yes and carried on starting to clean up while I put the other pumpkins away to dry. We discovered Garett had slathered tylers entire pumpkin on green paint and started in on his. Green is his best friends favourite colour, and if we had let him, all four would be 100% green now haha
Last night we started in on the big pumpkins. It was pretty late, we had to eat dinner in between and we only got one pumpkin carved. So stay tuned for finished product later.

Every single year, the first 5 minutes after we open the pumpkin and Garett feels the goo inside, he cries. Like not a little cry, he stands there and loses his mind. I take a picture every year of it, and we laugh because it's just so ridiculous that immediately following that cry, he all but covers himself in the stuff and wants to not use the scoop anymore, but just his hands instead. Last year, he even tried licking it to see what it tastes like? (Gross, obviously ). What a boy. Anyways, after the annual breakdown , we got the seeds separated and seasoned and in the oven while we ate dinner. After dinner, Garett and Tyler sketched out what Garett wanted the first pumpkin carved as (hint: it's a vampire jack o lantern hahah). We put the flame less orange candle inside to see it in the dark before bath time. Then we read a few stories and he was passed out. I took a short bath to soak and Keira was in bed right after. We all slept in this morning, and then ty and Garett took off for daycare/work, leaving Keira and I to carry on with our day. Me:clean. Her:nap lol. I started the show Brothers and Sisters, which is amazing. Very similar to the feel of parenthood, so it feels nice to have so many episodes of this to watch :)

Hope everyone had a wonderful Monday! I can already sense this week is going to go fast!

  1. I love how you caught BOTH their expressions. Tyler's face is just as hilarious as poor Garett hahaha!
Also, I LOVE baby girl's outfit. I'll bring that cup over tonight if you're going to be home!
