Would you like some cheese with that wine?
For the longest time I have wanted to host a wine and cheese party. I decided my 30th was as good a time as any to check it off my list and it worked out well because I didn't want to go out anywhere and leave Keira yet, so it allowed me to stay home and keep the baby at arms reach.
So then the planning started.
I spent too much time searching the Internet to figure out which cheeses and types of wine I wanted. But in the end, I think I laid it out as simply as I could so I didn't have to walk everyone through it and made it a more enjoyable experience for myself. Took a lot of stress off and made it feel less like school lol
So here's what we decided to serve on the side:
-prosciutto (regular and smoked)
-mortadella
-Genoa salami
-Hungarian salami
-whole clove garlic bread loaf
-sundried tomato and herb foccocia
-French crusty bread
-water crackers
-wheat thins
-vegetable crackers
-cheddar crackers
-dill weed and cream cheese flavour twistos
-two types of oil dip for the bread that I infused with herbs/garlic/balsamic vinegar
-strawberries ,gala apples, green and red grapes
-hamball
-two types of olives
-almonds
-pistachios
-dark chocolate (two types)
-cranberry mixture
The types of cheeses were:
-camambert
-Brie
-jalapeƱo havarti
-Gruyere
-cheddar (old and medium)
-mozzarella
-Swiss
-feta
-Gouda
-herbed goat cheese
The wines were:
-champagne
-Reisling
-Pinot Grigio
-Chardonnay
-Sauvignon blanc
-Pinot noir
-Cabernet Sauvignon
-Zinfandel
-Shiraz
I wrote the type of wine and drew a line to the corresponding pairings and it was very straightforward and fun to work our way through it all! I totally recommend one of these evenings for your next social event!!
I don't have any pictures of it all totally set up. We put all the food on a big folding table and it worked out well :)
Wow! What a spread! I've always wanted to do something similar too! Looks awesome!
