Long Weekend Recap

I took virtually no pictures this weekend aside from some painting progress pictures, and I won't share them because I'm not ready to do final room showings yet...so...here we are, standing face to face with a picture-less post, lol

I had a great long weekend, in the sense that I personally didn't have much I needed to accomplish! lol

Friday after work, Tyler got home at the same time as G and I. I had done quite a bit of cleaning on Thursday night, so we didn't have much to do to get ready for the bbq. It was supposed to be just Tyler's concrete guys, but typical Tyler fashion, a few others came by--which, thank god, because it would have been quite the boring night if I was just stuck inside alone with G lol. We bbq'd simple hamburgers and hot dogs, and bought a few pre-made salads, no big thing! The guys did their thing, and Shannon and I hung out inside with G-man and Rylie--I think it's safe to say they enjoy each others company haha

Most people left at a really decent time, but the guys that don't have kids at home obviously outstayed their welcome a little bit. I was long in bed when tyler came upstairs. But I was having the worst sleep ever--I don't sleep well when there's other people in the house awake, regardless of whether I can hear them or not. Luckily Garett decided to sleep in until about 8 on Saturday morning, so we still got a pretty decent sleep!

We got up and ready and headed to the dealership--Tyler had a mandatory check up of an oil change, tire rotation, brake check, etc, so we drove over in separate cars, went for breakfast at the Kozy Nest, and the truck was ready. So we went home and dropped off my car, and headed to the hospital to pre-register. It was a pretty painless process. On the way out, Garett asked "is your belly empty now, mommy?"...I wish that was the process, and it was that pain free! ahaha.

We stopped for some gas, and jumped on the highway to head to cornwall. We were a bit ahead of our planned schedule for the day, so what was a "drive to cornwall to get the nursery furniture and go home" trip turned into us stopping at my parents house for a visit, some lunch, with a side of picking up the furniture lol. It was nice to just have a relaxed visit and not worry about just driving around like crazy people for so long lol. When we got home, the neighbour helped Tyler get the boxes out of the bed of the truck and into the garage. We ate a quick snack and were in bed quite early!

Sunday we were up around 7:30 and we lounged around a bit, played outside for a touch of time, and I made a big breakfast while Tyler started painting the front living room. It's been such a nightmare because it takes twice as long to paint a room here--we have to do the baseboards, frames, etc also, so we can't do much in between until that stuff dries. It's essentially double work! He managed to get the living room done, and did the front hallway/entryway and the fourth wall in the living room that leads to the kitchen in the neutral tone I picked for all the halls/stairwells.

I rearranged the furniture a bit and picked out where things will be hung in the room. Have to let the paint cure a bit before we go hanging stuff in there, but I feel good knowing there's a plan, lol. I really need to find an area rug I like for in there, for less than the 2 grand all  the ones that size seem to cost!

I took G to the grocery store real quick to pick up a few necessities (freezies, orange juice..you know haha), and when we got back, Tyler took G to granny's house to pick up our lawn mower we lent them while the one they use was getting fixed, and then to the shop to see the new shelves that were installed. We had a quick dinner and it was straight to bed. Garett was absolute toast.

Monday we woke at a more normal time--around 7, and we cleaned up a bit around the house, did a bit of laundry (I washed the baby bedding, etc) and Tyler headed to the store to fix some payroll issues, and log some new inventory. His friend came by to help offload the trailer from comiccon the weekend before, and ordered in pizza, so G and I met them there, played around in the store for a while and left. We stopped for a smoothie as a treat on the way home, and sat outside while G played for a bit. Tyler mowed the lawn so Garett could play without worry (he hates weeds right now , lol). We had another easy peasy dinner, Tyler assembled the dresser/hutch in the nursery, and some quick showers. Garett was falling asleep at 7:20, so we managed to push him to about 8:15. He went to his bed around 8:40 and was done for , lol.
We watched a few episodes of scandal and passed out around 10.

I'm excited for the short week! I'm excited to assemble the crib tonight and get the bedding on. I'm excited to hang stuff around the house in the rooms that have stuff ready hang (our room only has two more little things to hang, and then I can do my post about our master--same with the ensuite--just some shelves to hang (they are such a pain to hang though :( ), and then I can share that one.
Hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend, and enjoy the short week ahead/stay cool!
