Tired/28 Week update

I could not have acquired less sleep this weekend if I had tried. BOO. And here I am, Monday morning. In an almost empty office because people are either away on holidays, sick or not in the office for a plethora of reasons. Should be fun!

Tomorrow I have a half day since I have my Glucose Test, but other than that, a long week ahead I'm sure. Bring it! Looking forward to this weekend, so I just want to get through this week :)

On Friday, I was off. I needed to get all the tagging done for the Outgrow Outplay sale. I had organized everything into piles by size, made all my tags online already, so I just had to print them, hang everything according to how I labelled them and box it up for transport. Easy, right? Wrong.
I worked for about 2 hours in the morning before I left the house for my hair appointment. I had only made it through about 18/158 tags. I was feeling quite overwhelmed, but I knew the last hundred or so tags were DVD's, so I wasn't overly concerned yet.

My hair appointment took much longer than I anticipated--also--who charges $90 for just a basic haircut in the middle of Orleans? I won't be going back there. I about swallowed my tongue when she told me the price--sorry--am I at an upscale salon in downtown Ottawa? No? Then you have no business charging that. Rant over.

I went home, at a quick lunch and got back to work. I spent 4 more solid hours (got lots of Netflix movies watched though at the same time! haha) and I was FINALLY done labelling. I laid everything into boxes for easy transport and called it a day. I immediately had to go get G from daycare by that time.

He brought home his mother's day gifts for me--a homemade card, a picture/write up of him answering questions about me (which was the absolute cutest ever) and a decorated ceramic flower pot with a flower they planted (this weeks theme was gardening).

When Tyler got home, we loaded up the car and headed to the butchers. We picked up a few steaks, went to the grocery store and got stuff to make some sides, went home and cooked it all up. Garett  ate two huge bowls of food, and we had bought a bunch of assorted desserts from the bakery to try, so he also ate half of his cupcake. We ate once Garett was done eating--he played in the living room while we ate and chatted, and it was actually really nice. We each ate an éclair for dessert and the boys played a bit while I took a bath. It was bedtime shortly after, so G took a quick bath and off to bed he went.

Saturday Garett slept in a bit, but I was up before 6 (why, I don't know). Got lots of laundry done, and we headed out for breakfast close to our place, and then off to the paint store we went! We grabbed paint for the main floor (powder room, living room, family room, kitchen, hallways/stairwells) and Ty got some painters pants and new rollers.

When we got home, Tyler got to work painting the trim in our bedroom and put on the paint. It feels so good--refreshing to have the newly painted rooms. The yellow colour on every wall in our house makes it feel dirty to me. We also paint all the doors as we go too--and it's incredible how off-white they were! So gross.

We hung out a bit, watched some tv, played in the backyard and rearranged the patio furniture. I was putting the cushions on, and on the last cushion, I found a huge spider, so I immediately threw it across the yard and stopped all work. Garett was all played out pretty well, so we sat on the stairs and had a popsicle before going inside.

Tyler headed out around 6:15 for his cousins going away party at his aunt and uncles house. Garett and I stayed back since he had a bit of a challenging afternoon and it was getting late, so he was going to be in bed early. He went down around 9 and I watched Couples Retreat. I could NOT fall asleep. I was up until around 3:30 when I finally fell asleep. Garett decided 6:20 was an appropriate time to wake up, even though we spoke before bed and I told him "tomorrow is mothers day, so lets sleep in"...nope! haha

So we laid in bed watching cartoons for a bit. I made him and I breakfast while Tyler got to sleep in. I made as much noise as I could hoping to wake him up---how backwards! lol

Tyler got up, did some dishes, cleaned the bathrooms and did some banking online. We lounged around and didn't do much until I showered and got ready around 12. We headed out around 1:15 to meet his family at Montana's for lunch.

I'm not a huge Montana's fan--but we used to go just for the Caesar's (pre-kids). The food was ok, the service was atrocious, but Garett cooperated here aside from waiting over an hour for our food (in a not very busy restaurant) lol..Afterwards, my SIL, myself and the boys walked across the parking lot to get some drinks. What a nuthouse. This proved more challenging than the restaurant haha. Tyler stayed back to pay the bill at Montana's and was walking up to the doors as I was walking out with our stuff. I handed him Garett and we went for a bit of a visit at his mom's. The boys played well and we headed home at like 4:30? I don't even know..I was running on 3 hours of sleep, I think I went through the day in a haze. I stopped at shoppers for some stuff we needed, and headed home.

Tyler ran me a bubble bath, and I read a bit of the book I started the other day ("The Nest"). When I got out, I laid out clothes for today, we had a snack, started watching the old "American Tale" movie with G, until it was like 8:30. He went right to his bed and surprisingly didn't come out at all. He was toast! We watched one episode of Scandal and passed out. I think I missed the last few minutes, but whatever lol.

Today marks 28 weeks in my pregnancy--I am feeling quite pregnant at this point. So, I will do my quick recap and be done with it, lol

How far along?
28 weeks today

How big is the peanut?

Approx 2.3lbs and 14.8 inches long, according to baby centre..I feel like she's fully grown with the movements she makes. ooouuuffff!

Total weight gain/loss?
Not sure. I feel like I've gained 100 lbs since my last appt. Prob in reality a few lbs lol

Maternity clothes?

Slowly buying some maternity clothes for the summer. But still very much into the regular clothes. This won't last much longer--maybe 2-3 more weeks, max and I'll be solely in maternity/summer dresses, I assume

Sleep?

Saturday night was brutal. Like so much so that it totally negates the amazing sleep I was having until that evening lol

Best moment this week?

Opened up the bedding to wash, and I love it so much!

Symptoms?

Kicks.Punches. Jabs...I'm uncomfortable.

Food cravings?

nope, none

Food aversions?

None

Nope!

Belly button in or out?

What I miss?

This one will never change--sleeping on my stomach and back.

What I'm looking forward to?

Getting the nursery all set up with furniture, decorated and complete! Also, a joint mommy/daddy/G shopping trip to pick up the last like 30 smaller things I need for her. I love babies r us sprees :)

Milestones?
Third trimester next week!

Bump?

Getting bigger. Very high up. I think this attributes to being uncomfortable. G sat much lower.

  1. I highly recommend HairTech by the Barley Mow (10th Line and Vanguard, I think). My hair cuts costs $51 plus tip. Places that have a spa or whatever attached to it always cost more.
We were sad to not see you and G at the party on Saturday night. Rylie has been asking for you guys all week and she kept following Ty around. So cute!

    1. I know, but the website says $47.99 and up--"and up" to me do NOT mean $90 lol. Plus, I don't even really like the cut, she had zero conversation skills, and it took forever. I'll have to try out HairTech next time--I think I am in mourning over not wanting to drive so far for my girl :( lol

Ugh, we had every intention of going, but I was so tired already, and it was approaching g's bedtime by the time she was going to arrive, and he was pooped out from the week already, so didn't want to push it. Plus, I didn't want to rush Tyler out, or have to take two cars there--he doesn't get to see the family a ton, so thought it was a good compromise lol. I wanted to go, but didn't think it was right to be like "ok you stay home with Garett and I'm going to hang out with your family" hahaha
