Quiet weekend recap

You know those weekends where you have nothing planned, except to do whatever you want to do around the house and marvel in how productive you can be when you have that time at home? I hardly know this feeling, but I wish there was a bottomless pit full of these weekends, because honestly, it felt good! Tyler may disagree (I know he likes checking things off the list, but I may have been borderline slave driver. I feel bad. But also, hormones.)

Friday night, Tyler picked Garett up from daycare, so I could go right to the Purolator depot to pick up my packages. I didn't anticipate it all to come at once, but there for pickup was the Playpen, car seat, stroller, and all the stuff I ordered from Sears (nursing pillow, more hangers, grooming kit, monitor, bath toy for Garett,), and in my mail box, my amazon order of all the bottles had arrived as well. It was quite the load. And Tyler just helped me carry it and didn't say a word about it--I thought he would freak when it all came at once, haha...but...it's baby stuff..and being 13 weeks to our due date, it needed to be done.

Today, two new seats for Garett arrive. He might question those purchases, since we didn't NEED these right now. But I feel as though he is outgrowing the seats he has now--like his head is nearing the top, and I wanted him to have the higher back, and cup holders, haha. Plus, it's better to do it now before baby comes, because it may be shoved off longer once we are busy. This is what I will say if he puts up a fuss :) haha. I should also be receiving my new clothes/accessories I ordered, and Wednesday the chair cover for the nursery comes.

Anyways, after all that stuff was unloaded from my car, I took Garett for a bike ride around the loop in our block, so Tyler could get everything ready to wash the truck. When we got back, Garett washed his bike, and helped daddy wash the truck. We also coloured chalk on the driveway

Afterwards, we ordered in Swiss Chalet and Tyler painted the nursery.

We were all pooped, and had a pretty early night. Garett went to bed, and we watched a few episodes of Scandal, but were not far behind. We were passed out by 9:45--the last thing Tyler said to me before we fell asleep was "young people are just getting ready to go out for the night" and I said "we are young. and I prefer sleep" and we fell asleep, haha

I don't remember what time Garett came in at, but I was too tired to ask why, or to tell him to go back to bed

This is what I saw when I woke up:

Aw :)

When we woke up, we had a quick breakfast at home (cereal and fruit, nothing spectacular, lol), and Tyler got to work painting Garett's room.

Good bye horrible yellow

Hello: Green

In between coats, Garett got a haircut and shower. Once both coats were done, we headed out. Tyler stopped at Popeye's for some food. Garett and I were not hungry since we had a snack before we left the house, so Ty just ate in the truck. He had to eat pretty fast, because Garett was VERY antsy to get to Cosmic Adventures.

So off we went. When we arrived, we bought him a membership card that's good for the year. It gets him and both of us in for free for the year. By then, the new place in Orleans will have opened, so we will look at a membership there if he still enjoys that kind of place.

We put our shoes and stuff in the bins and headed in. There was some climbing through the gym part (He's not a huge fan of the mesh flooring, so I assume with experience and more age, this will be ok with him. Unless he's like me. I don't love heights, so maybe he is the same). He went down quite a few slides, played in the ball pits. Climbed, Jumped, Ran...he burned off some serious energy.

After he was done with the physical playing, we put some money on his card and we went nuts in the arcade zone. Garett, as it turns out, is amazing at arcade games and hit the jackpot on one of them! He won 661 tickets from one round (usually it's like 5-10 tickets per round of this game). One of the employees came over and followed him around, watching him, amazed by his luck, lol. He got 1600 tickets in the 15 minutes we were there for. So he went to the prize area and got pretty much everything he pointed at. He has 200 leftover to save for next time he's there still also.

We stopped at Wendy's for a quick bite, and decided to go through drive thru, since a certain someone passed out on the way there. Then Tyler ran into Canadian Tire for a few things while G slept. We drove around for a bit and headed home when Garett woke up after a quick 30 min doze.

We did some laundry and tidied up a bit. Garett played his little heart out. While G and I played, Tyler headed to the grocery store to grab a few things, and Garett and I made Nachos with taco meat on them. I set up the ipad in the basement, and G watched "Home" and ate, while we watched an episode of Scandal. After it was over, it was like 8:15 already, so we headed upstairs. G was in bed early and we watched 3 episodes more before turning in for the night.

Sunday, we all slept in! I only slept until about 7, but the boys were down until almost 8. This is a rarity in our house lately, to sleep in. Garett is very by the book that as soon as it's light out, it's wake up time!

We got up, got dressed, the boys played a bit and I put away like 5 or 6 loads of clean laundry.
We went downstairs and got settled in, and I made eggs and bacon and toast with fruit. We all chowed down for some energy.

Tyler headed out to get a new vent thing (the one that goes up the wall to the outside of the house) for the dryer.

While he was out , he popped by at his moms for a quick visit. And Garett and I put up his wall décor and decals. By Garett and I , I mean I did, and he sat and read me "How the Grinch stole Christmas" probably 37 times (in a paraphrasing manner, of course), and built with his lego, and played paw patrol with his figurine things.

Once that was completed, we had some lunch, and I got to work on the linen closet. It was such a mess, and jam packed of sheets and towels, that I pulled it all out and started from scratch. I moved all of the towels under bathroom sinks, and sorted through bedding sets. I separated each set by fitted sheet, flat sheet and pillow cases, refolded them all and put them back in the closet. I feel much better now about this. When things "under the hood" of the house are organized, I sleep better at night--even though it's places most people will never look, it's one of those things that just FEEL good, knowing for yourself.

The boys headed to Canadian Tire again. Since Garett is turning into quite the little nature watcher, we decided to get him a bird feeder. There's no trees in our backyard at this house either, so we got a hanger for it. We are hoping it works out, with no shelter above it (not sure how much birds love eating out of a feeder without a tree above it?) And I heard it draws mice??? So we put it at the back of the yard. If it doesn't draw birds, we will put it in the tree in the front yard, no big deal. It was chilly and rainy, so assumed that's the reason we didn't see any birds. Here's hoping this warmer week will bring some so G can reap the fruits of his labor, lol. We also put out some more veggies for the bunny that visits:)

Tyler grabbed me one of my favourite drinks at starbucks, and thought I needed a trenta for some reason. Too much sweetness, so I could only drink half :( This hurts me. haha

I decided to organize a bit, since so much STUFF has been accumulating downstairs now that the orders arrived. I just brought up some stuff for the baby in her nursery, and unpacked the diaper genie, car seat, stroller to get rid of the boxes. This pile is about half of the size now.

I also brought the stuff I want to hang in our Ensuite upstairs, washed some dishes, and made some pizza for dinner.

I was intending on taking a bath last night, since I finished my other novel, I wanted to start a new one, or at the very least poke through the Cosmo Tyler grabbed for me at the store. But time got away from me, and I took a shower instead. Tyler installed a new toilet seat and lid in the ensuite also.

I laid out clothes for G today, and he was in bed by 9. We watched a few episodes of scandal (it's a terrible, deep addiction at this point), and went to sleep around 10:30 also.

I am so looking forward to this week (and the weather!). Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend as well :)
