What a busy, busy week!! And no end in sight until the New Year!! On Monday after work Tyler picked me and Dolly up and went to Peggy and Terry's for dinner. We were there for a few hours before heading home. Late night getting to bed #1. On Tuesday at 2:00 we headed out for our divisional Christmas Party at Maxwell's on Elgin. Complete with appetizers, drinks and a tacky gift exchange. Tyler picked us up from there as well and brought us home. I was so wound up from being out that I didnt get to bed until late. My dad was recently diagnosed with bone spurs in his feet, austio arthritis and something facitious (dont know what it's called or how it's spelled but he needs physio, medication and to get some prescription orthotic shoes and insoles which are pushing $1000 a pair). Wow--What a long and crazy weekend! With no end in sight!! Friday I was off work--I had a doctors appointment in the morning (all went well but he is still sending me for a Colposcopy and possible Biopsy but he is certain there is nothing even remotely cancerous about it this is just a precautionary measure to see what it is and keep an eye on it). So he said in the next 2 months the hospital should be calling me for a consultation and then we'll book the appointment from there. The afternoon, I took off as vacation. I met up with Ty and we had some lunch and we went home to relax a bit! I started getting ready and headed out to dinner at Boston Pizza with the girls for Ashlee and Shan's birthday! Ok so it's been a while. Can't remember how long (I'd have to look) but I know I won't be able to properly catch up--but I'll try anyways:) So first news first! One of my best friends (Shannon) got engaged to Ty's cousin (Casey) on Nov 16!! :) She tried to call but it happened to be a night we decided to go to bed early (by like 8 haha) but Casey got through to Ty and told him. On Friday the 18th, Shan and I went for lunch alone together and she asked to to be a Bridesmaid. Of course I said yes :) Ty will be MC'ing with Stephane (who was our best man) so they should do a fantastic job! I'm having a very good day--nothing in particular has happened but I am just in a good mood! :) Feelin' Good! This eating right thing is addictive! I feel great :) Pounds are starting to come off as well so that keeps the ball rolling too! :) Yesterday my parents came over to the house and while me and Ty were at work, checked off a few things on our never ending to-do list! Guess we could start off today with a little weekend recap! :) Since Friday was Remembrance Day, us Government working folk got it as a holiday. In the morning I did a bit of laundry and watched a bit of the ceremonies on TV. After the moment of silence, I got dressed and headed into Ottawa to go to Rickis. I needed a new pair of black dress pants and a nice top since it was a night out for me and Ty that night :) I had to rush back to Embrun because I had my hair appointment at 1:00! I made it jusstttt in time :) I have to say, I love it there! it's my new hangout :) Expensive hangout, but at least I'll look better for it! haha I coloured my hair a dark shade of brown and cut 7 inches off. All of the dead hair is officially LONG gone! She said my hair is so healthy now so I can grow it out again and as long as I keep up with trims it should be thick and shiny. What a week! Part of me feels like it flew by and part of me feels like it just dragged on!! In honour of all of our war heroes, we get tomorrow off for Remembrance Day from work. Will be a quiet morning filled with reflection and respect. In the afternoon, I have made a hair appointment since I can never get an opportunity to do so it seems. Now, I haven't been to get my hair cut/done in a LONG time. Like so long I can't even remember--I think a little over a year actually--and that's not good. So I am going to make a conscious effort to get my hair done/trimmed on a regular basis :) The appointment is at 1:00 and it's for a full colouring (going darker) and a cut (going shorter--not too short though--I still love my long hair :)) and a style. I am also going to check out while I'm their the "Resin Nails" and see if I can get them done. They look so natural and gorgeous (I see ladies on the bus with them). We Want to Know Wednesday (Again stolen from Stacy! lol) is all about beauty.. {1} What is your "can't go without it" beauty product/cosmetic? I can go without a lot of things. But I would say mascara and face cream would be the hardest to give up     {2} Do you apply make-up before or after doing your hair? When I'm getting ready, I usually blow dry my hair and then put on my makeup. If I do anything else with it, I do it after the makeup--but regardless, I always save mascara for last--so if I need to straighten my hair I do that and then put on mascara   {3} How would you describe your personal style? So--it's been a while! I guess I should hunker down and write a blog since it's been forever since I had the chance to do it! Not much has happened since my last blog, but at the same time, it feels like a TON has happened. Let's see--so my last blog was a little before Hallowe'en weekend, so here goes nothin'... On October 27, we had a bakesale at work, so the night of the 26th, I was a busy girl baking away! I made mini pumpkin spice cupcakes with a homemade cream cheese icing. They were very sweet, but good! Glad I made them mini or it would have been too sweet with the icing for a complete cupcake! So I made a batch for home and a batch for work. They must have gone over well because I only had 4 come back to take home after the sale was done :) I had October 28 off as I had a doctors appointment. So I guess I'll just start with a little recap of my evening! After work and the hour long bus ride to get home, my dad was still there when I arrived. What a crazy Monday morning! I am surprised I made it to work in one piece. If you had asked me 2 hours ago, I would have told you I shouldn't even be here, but things are looking up :) I hit the snooze button twice this morning (usually only hit it once) and woke up feeling sick to my stomach. I was so feverish I just spent 10 minutes in the bathroom leaning up again the tiled walls. I shut the heat off and put cold water on my face. It didn't get any better as I was getting ready. I seriously debated staying home but since it looks bad calling in sick Monday mornings (people always think "yah right--they just wanted to sleep in"), I decided to shove through it and get in the car. On the way to the car, I tripped and nearly sprained my ankle. I fell onto my freezing wet car instead of the alternative of the cold wet grass lol. Picked Dolly up only to find her morning isn't going much better. An hour and 20 minutes later, we were in subway fixing our morning. Ha...

Oh my gosh--it's finally here....FRIDAY :) heheh ( I was going to say TGIF but didn't want to sound too cliche this early in the morning). Last night after work was pretty uneventful! We took the hour long bus ride, I dropped Dolly off at home and I went home to visit with my dad for a few minutes (He was there helping to finish the washroom which is now pretty well complete and to put in my new sink and faucet). When he took off to go home, I also left and went to the furniture store and stopped at M&M Meatshop on the way home and picked up some of those broccoli and cheese stuffed potatoes and some pepper marinated sirloin steaks and made those and some peas and garlic bread for dinner. Oh my were they ever good! Definitely pick some up if you ever shop there! (I love M&M!). Cake. That's all I want to eat right now is a little bit of cake (or a lot, depending on the kind). Instead, I opted for an egg white and sausage breakfast sandwhich on an english muffin from Subway (which by the way has delicious breakfast if you ever want to try it) and it's pretty good for you! (in comparison to tim hortons). Those of you on weight watchers should try it as they're very low in points! So last weekend Tyler started dismantling our above ground pool (next summer, we want to move it closer to the house and put a nice deck around it , etc). So he got the top ring of connectors off with my dads help and those are put away. Long story short, it's been sitting like that (just the steel and support bars on the sides) for the past almost week now. Last night and today we are having huge wind gusts (feels like tornado winds) and I looked out the bedroom window this mornign to find it all folded in on itself. Ok, so I haven't posted in a few days and I guess it's time to get back on the horse! Things at work have been crazy hectic! I must say I like when it's busy because it passes my day by a little faster, but at the same time I do like having some "me" time during the day to clean up the mess that at some point during the morning has formed on my desk, get a drink of water, go to the washroom, go for lunch, etc...I guess I shouldn't complain, things get so slow during the summer that winter time is almost like a bit of a  treat :) Today's the big day at the homestead! The well guy is coming for 10 AM and by the time I get home from work I will have functioning, drinkable water!! :) :) My dad was going to the house to be there for the work as both Tyler and I have to be at work today. My parents also came yesterday (dad left in the middle of closing their pool because Ty needed help) to drywall the washroom and they did the piping for the new shower heads, ...

So this was a very short week for me. Monday was a holiday and Tuesday/Wednesday I stayed home. Thursday was my first go at the bus from Embrun to downtown where I work. It took a little over an hour. It really isn't that bad because you sit there and do nothing. But the rain made it seem a little worse. Though I do have the company of my sister-in-law the whole way :) I changed my work hours a bit more so we could take the same bus. It is fun! Though living in a different place may as well be a different country. I think we have both found the adjustment to be challenging. I can't help but feel like everyone is staring at me, pointing me out as the noobie in the town. I know it looks like I don't belong there, right down to the car I drive (everyone there seems to have a truck of sorts). Once I get my Jeep I plan to buy eventually, I'll fit right in :) Another thing I'm having trouble getting used to...manure. The smell of it lingers in the air near the park an...

WOW! What an exhausting (good) weekend!  I can barely remember as far back as Saturday! hahah But here we go! Friday after work, I came out to the house and worked on some stuff (my parents were here) and visited for a bit. We went back to our house in Ottawa afterwards and Tyler showered and took off to Rod's for a nice long break from the house work. I did some laundry, a little packing and sorting for the garage sale. Went to bed pretty early! When I woke up, I loaded some stuff in the car and came to Embrun. The hot water tank guy was right in front of me (good timing!). My parents beat me here though anyways so I wouldn't have missed him or anything :) He taught me and my dad a bit about the hot water tank (how to maintain it, about the new sensor we have on it, what temperature to keep it on, etc). Not sure how today is only Friday. All day yesterday felt like Friday. I was even beginning to believe people were trying to trick me into thinking it was Thursday! People kept sending emails about not being in on Tuesday (if that's the case--just email me on Friday before the long weekend!) and I even got home and my package of flyers was on the deck. I only receive flyers on Friday when I get home from work (yes, I look forward to my big package of flyers I signed up for :) ). So you can see why I am so confused! I checked every computer calendar and cell phone in the house lol. Yet, no matter how tricked my brain was, I am here at work and there are other people here, so it is in fact, only Friday today lol. Last night after work, I drove out to Embrun to the house where my parents and Ty had been all day. Wow! What a hectic week this has been. I am surprised I found any time to write these things! Work has been absolutely crazy busy! And after work I've either been driving to Embrun, going out and spending all my money on my house or something along those lines! Last night I went after work for an oil change (she needed it) and a 39 point inspection just to make sure she's still ok (yes I call the car a she lol). All she needs is a brake fluid flush and me to drive her more. He says the battery needs a good charging, so to go for a good long drive around :) Nooo problem :) With the gas prices out in Embrun, I'll drive all day, I don't care LOL (usually around 6-7 cents a litre cheaper!) Today, my parents are coming up again to get some more painting done, etc with the hubby. Here we go again!  Tuesday morning. Cold, wet Tuesday morning. Last night after work, I headed to Embrun to the house. Unpacked all but a few boxes in the kitchen :) Ty brought a few by accident which was convenient because it was all stuff I wanted to get rid of, so I just sent it home with Dolly :) (who came to visit!) Yesterday Ty took out the cupboards and hood fan above the stove and cut the counter (to make room for the new appliances), put up the two new ceiling fixtures in the spare rooms, cut the computer room with the colour it will be painted, patched all the holes in the upstairs walls, went up in the attic and pulled up all the cords this guy had hanging through the ceilings and patched it. He went around and painted most of the ceilings and started putting up the dining room fixture :) All in all, he was pretty productive! heheh My parents are going up to the house today and will be helping Ty with some other stuff! I would like to get to Sears tonight to pick up...

*sigh* Monday again. The weekends go so quickly when you keep busy :(. On Thursday, Ty left for the fishing derby. Friday after work, I went out to Embrun and worked around a bit at the new house with my parents. We camped out in the living room for the night. Note to self:get a new air mattress as this one has a slow leak and results in sleeping on a hardwood floor lol. Saturday morning we went to Cornwall to go to my cousins baby (Ethan's) baptism. He is so cute and well behaved--even with being sick. We got him a couple cute outfits and bibs (one says "This is what handsome lookes like) and a little blanket that has a built in rattle. We didn't get to stay at the dinner long enough for cake and gifts as it was quite a long evening. Work has been crazy hectic and so has my everyday life! So I was going to pack my entire kitchen last night. Got about 1/3 done it and gave up to clean because I killed 3 baby centipedes in the process of packing. YUCK. I took a 2 hour break and watched Bridesmaids. Boy do I wish I hadn't....it was funny in all of about 2 spots. The rest just depressed me and made me thank God for where I am at in life. (good job, married, know what I want, etc). Is it Friday yet???? In fact, you would swear from how my morning is going that it was a Monday, so I guess I'm ahead of the game! I woke up and shut my alarm off this morning and fell back asleep for an extra 20 mins, stubbed my toe on the dresser trying to navigate through my room in the dark. Once I started doing my hair, I realised "wow, I'm having a good hair day!" (which doesn't happen often). I get in my car, and drive to the bus stop. I get to the bus stop just as my bus arrives (lucky I suppose) and as soon as I get off the bus to make my 5 block walk to work, it downpours. Flashbacks to the night before when I took my umbrella out of my purse went through my mind as my good hair day went down the drain lol. Oh well!
