Exhaustion Woes
I'm tired. I dug down deep this morning to find the motivation to get out of bed. The to-do list at home is out of control, and with work being more quiet as we enter the summer months when EVERYONE and their dogs are off, things really stand still. This makes me want to stay home even more because 1) it's nice out, and I don't want to be stuck indoors, lol 2) I could get so much done at home in the time it's quiet here.
I finalized my dates for maternity leave late last week. I officially start on July 11, so my last day in the office would have been July 8. But since daycare is closed July 4-15, I decided I will come in on July 4--Ty can deal with that day, and then I'll take off the rest of the week as vacation before my maternity leave starts. So I definitely have a countdown going :)
Last night felt so hectic. I was a few minutes late leaving work, so really hit the traffic. Finally got Garett, got home, got the mail and went to open the door. I forgot I had left with the boys out the garage that morning, and left the safety lock thing closed on the front door. Only Tyler has a remote for the garage, so we were locked out. We packed up in the car and headed to Tyler's yard to grab the opener. Once G-man saw daddy at "work"he didn't want to leave. So tyler kept him at the yard for the last 45 minutes while he was supervising some stuff (which G was pretty excited about lol), so I headed back, went to Shopper's for a few things, grabbed myself a mint shake on the way home (yum), and did some dishes.
I went to switch over the laundry from that morning, and noticed that the clothes weren't dry. What the heck? So I turned it on again because I thought I was losing my marbles and had forgot to turn the dryer on. I watched an episode of Masterchef Canada that I had PVR'd and went back down. To find hot, damp clothes. Not good. So Tyler took it all apart and noticed there was water in the dryer vent hose thingy....weird! So he dried it all out and we are good now. Very weird.
I made some turkey burgers in the cast iron pan, topped them with some arugula/kale mix, goat cheese on mine and Ty's (cheddar on G's), and a quick spread of a creamy greek dressing. Was pretty good. Garett gobbled his up, minus half the bun, which he managed to mangle in true eating a burger fashion, lol. Afterwards, he had a big bowl of red grapes and clementine, and it was play time.
I don't know where he gets the energy. He spent the majority of the afternoon on the trampoline and playing basketball (his new love). As he scooted all over on his scooter inside the house, I just looked at him in awe and jealousy haha.
I got everything cleaned up and put away after dinner, and switched more laundry over ( I seriously have like 10 more loads to do, I am so far behind :( ). I got to take a bath and relax for a bit because the boys had taken a shower together when they got home. We played lego as a family for about an hour, and then it was 8:30 somehow, so we brushed teeth and laid in bed watching some tv. Garett was in bed around 9:15, and we watched two episodes of Scandal (I almost risked being VERY tired today to watch another one because it's getting so so so good).
I was only up once in the night to go pee, which is some kind of record.
I was debating taking Friday off, just to catch up on home stuff, but I don't know if it's worth it since we are entering into a hopefully quiet weekend of painting and house stuff. I might rather just save the day off for later.
Baby girls bedding has arrived, but it's at the Canada post depot, I have to pick it up tonight because I owe some customs/duties on it, so they wouldn't leave it on my step.
Happy Hump Day, everyone! Hope your week is going faster than my own!!
