Thoughts on Thursday
Here comes randomness:
- Life has been crazy lately. I don't understand how my life can feel like such a whirlwind when I work a regular 7-3 job?? I guess that's the perks of a very motivated/successful/busy husband. Your life, by association, becomes busy. Single mom duty gets kicked up a notch, which I am fine with, because there's nothing I love more than chillin' with G at this age, but it makes keeping up with everything else slightly more challenging.
-Last night for example, Garett and I headed over to the post office to pick up the nursery bedding that came in. I didn't think the box would be so large. Like, it didn't fit in the cart. And Garett is in the "I'll do it myself " phase, so would NOT get in the cart, but wanted to walk beside me. Fine. Except I have this fear of him jetting out in front of me and getting lost, or running into traffic (I think this is a normal motherly fear), so I was holding the box in one arm (somehow) and holding onto his hand/coat for dear life with the other as we navigated back to the car. He thinks mommy is silly.I think mommy is paranoid.
-Tyler got home around 5, and we decided not to cook, so we ordered a massive amount of Swiss chalet--like, enough to feed a family of 6. But we were hungry, and it was fun to lounge and all pig out.
-Garett rode his bike around in the house so I could clean the kitchen up a bit and managed to get two more loads of laundry done. He sure loves that bike! Indoors and out! lol
-Bath time was soon after. After Garett, I took a nice bath and read a few chapters of my book, and the boys played/made forts/did lego for about an hour.
-Afterwards, it was snack time for G, and we all laid in bed watching a show. He passed out soon after.
- I need to book a day off work to sit down and tag stuff for the sale. I still need to go through my clothes and set stuff aside. And pull out all the DVD boxes. I need an entire workday to do this, alone in the house, with no breaks. I have until May 12. Lord help us all.
- We have vowed to finish off the upstairs painting this weekend, since we have FINALLY a free-from-everything few days! We may have also promised a cosmic adventures trip to Garett, since he will not stop talking about it and asking to go back "as a family this time" so I can see him on the slides haha. How can you say no to that?
- We were so late getting our taxes in this year. So much stress comes from this fact. Tyler likes to leave it to the end to make sure everything is done properly with the accountants. Me? As soon as my T-4 is available, I want to get it done. We are cut from a different cloth in that sense. But I understand with the business stuff we need to wait a bit longer....numbers hurt my brain.
- I started my journal for baby girl a while back. I need to write an updated entry in Garett's. This is something my mom did for us growing up, and I always loved reading back on them, so I love that I have this for my kids too--I start while I'm pregnant, and continue on writing after each milestone, when the mood strikes, etc. Then I will never forget :)
-Today, a girl from work and I are headed to Sparks Street to feast at Poutinefest for lunch. We went last year, and vowed to make a yearly date out of it. I will miss it next year--so guess I need to eat double!
- Tyler is going to flip at the amount of packages being delivered to my house in the next two weeks haha. He must just think the baby fairy comes and makes the house ready for a baby. Wrong! Mommy gets busy online shopping and stocking up :)
- I think I will have a little "sprinkle" party at my house, and just have everyone together to visit and eat--instead of asking for gifts off a registry, maybe instead just ask for a box of diapers or something. I don't know. I haven't thought this through fully, but I have been itching to have a gathering. And once the house is painted and stuff is on the walls, I always like to have people over to make it feel more like home...maybe a co-ed bash?
- Passed on girls weekend this year. I would be no fun being so super pregnant and hot. I'll save it for my weekend away sans kiddos next year :)
-We are planning a trip (possibly with G) when the baby is about 8-10 months old. We have to take our "free trip" we got when we signed up for our membership by the time she is 10 months max, or we lose out on that $4k. We are thinking Aruba, Costa Rica, Jamaica or St. Thomas. Need to send in Garett's passport application. Either way, we need him to get it so we have the freedom to take him in the future.
- I am so excited for the weather coming up! It's pretty cold out today, but apparently it's supposed to be 16 or something tomorrow? Or so the cab driver told us
- We found out last night that there's 5 seasons of Scandal available to watch?! I thought there were only like 3. We are almost done season 2, so that was very exciting to find out. Is it still on? I hope so. We are in deep obsession now. 3 episodes a night, and more on weekends when we can stay up later! lol
- Garett is so funny in the mornings. He's been waking up 2 minutes before me this week and everyday he runs in and says "mommy, are you staying home with me?" Because when he sees me in the morning, he thinks we are spending the day together haha..silly little guy. He pouts a bit when I say "no, mommy has to go to work" and then asks "do you work to pay for me to go to cosmic adventures?".....yep, that's the only reason I work! haha. Also, he thinks I work in an office with Santa, because Christmas is the only time he comes , ahah
- He's also funny to watch tv with. He likes to watch toy reviews on youtube, and he will say "I wish I had that toy to play with!". Last night it was a lightning McQueen thing and he said "DADDY! I wish I had that lightning McQueen toy! It would be so cool! Order it for me!"
- I bought some cookies and cream ice cream at the store the other night and haven't opened it yet. I want it really badly right now.
- I hate how much maternity clothing places online want for shipping. Most of the time I will get to the checkout and decide "NOPE" because I don't want to pay another $45 to ship things. Plus the possibility of duties--like the $35 extra I had to pay in duties for the baby bedding last night :(
- I am so happy tomorrow is Friday. I am excited to get this weekend started and get some things settled around the house. I'm sick of boxes laying around for Garett's room stuff. I just want to get it all in there and put together so I can cross it off the list.
- Hope everyone's week is going well!
