Friday! And a Weekend look-ahead

Yesterday was so beautiful, it was painful to be stuck inside! Today? It's definitely a cozy inside day, so I have no problems being here.

When I picked G-man up from daycare yesterday, they were decorating cupcakes they had made together earlier in the day. He is always the first to get his turn at baking time because he is the first to get picked up. So he had his cupcake iced, and he was trying to pick out some sprinkles. Finally, he had satisfied his creative side, and we were in the car. On the way home Garett asked "mommy do we have ingredients for more cupcakes?". I have no problem with randomly baking, and feeding into that love. I always loved baking, so why not encourage him to love it as well? I took him to the grocery store to pick out some sprinkles--of course he picked the box with like 6 different types. I also grabbed a thing of icing, because less messes.

So we headed home, and got to mixing up the batter. We had bought some winnie the pooh cupcake liners too, and he did a better job at separating them that I do! So he was in charge of that part as well. Mommy measured everything out, and he dumped and mixed everything! Eggs were interesting..but I helped, so it should be fine. He learned to always crack them on a flat surface, so was pretty excited to share that news to daddy haha

We made a pizza at home for dinner. So after the cupcakes were done and all decorated a-la Garett, we made our pizza and put it in the oven. Daddy got home about halfway through it cooking, so they went to the basement and got all the empty rubbermaids and loaded them in the truck. We ate our dinner and then the boys headed out. This weekend is a big event for the store in Cornwall, so they went to the store to bring the bins so the employees could pack them up, and they stopped to play for a while at the park by our house. While they were out, I had a nice relaxing bath, and read a few chapters of my book.

When they got home, I was reading on a couch downstairs, so just made up a snack of cheese, crackers and green olives for G, and he laid down and watched some cartoons while I read. It was incredibly peaceful. I will savour these moments, and look back on them fondly once the next little monkey joins my zoo :)

We did a quick bath for G, and put him into his PJ's, laid out his clothes for today, and I made up a bag for daycare with some lighter changes of clothes and his sunscreen (when he came home yesterday, looked like he got a little sun on his face), and a hat. Guess we are at that time of year almost! He was in his bed pretty early for the night, so we watched some Scandal and followed suit.

Tyler woke up around 1:30 to take a puff of his inhaler, so I was up for a good 2 hours after that. Fun.

I need to find where I put the paper to pre-register at the hospital, and am hoping we can do that this evening. They don't accept mailed in pre-registrations anymore like they did when I was pregnant with G. You have to actually go in and pre-register there! And they suggest you do it a few months before your due date...so...a hospital trip, incoming.

This weekend is Cape in Cornwall, so Tyler is going up for a bit of the day tomorrow, and then we will all go up together on Sunday in the morning and Tyler will head over, and G and I will hang out for my niece's birthday party. So not much on the horizon this weekend for me at least! Should be pretty relaxing :) Tyler? not so much haha

I cannot believe we are entering into the last week of April already. I'm still writing March on everything at work! lol

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday! Garett headed out this morning in his rain coat , rain boots and splash pants, ready to face a fun day of puddle splashing and worm catching at daycare. What a great day for them to spend Earth Day! (Which has been their theme for this week)!
