Tuesday Randomness
Monday kind of flew on by, and I'm hoping that my Tuesday does as well :)
Tyler has to reach out to our mechanic today (I don't speak to them because my $500 bills always somehow turn out to be $1000 bills-- I guess I come across as big of a car idiot as I actually am.). Turns out the noise my car is making is a lower wheel bearing on the drivers side front wheel? I don't know. What I do know is it's a highly embarrassing noise, and I want my car in the shop as soon as possible so people will stop looking at me on the street. kthanks.
Yesterday was a slow-day in the office, so I got to mostly finish off Garett's room shopping. Since it's a dinosaur theme, and everything is already so vibrant, I needed a table lamp that matched the theme but wasn't too little kid-ish, and was less than $100 (WHY are lamps so expensive? Can someone please enlighten me? )..I checked all over. Home Depot, Rona, Lowes, Walmart, Bed bath and beyond, ikea, Canadian lighting experts, lamps plus, etc. I came up empty handed. In a last ditch effort, I decided to try Amazon....duh, Amy.
I found this "stacked stones" lamp and thought it was perfect for a dinosaur room! Another bonus, it was well under the $100 limit I put out. If it comes and I like it, I think I will order a second one for his room.
I also knew that I needed some more wall décor--something a little more dramatic to put above his bed, since it'll be a big boy double bed :(
I took to etsy and bought him a personalized dinosaur wall decal. I kept the letter orange, and writing black, but obviously with Garett's name ;)

I also wanted something else to kind of fill in the gaps on the big wall that will have his distressed wooden dinosaur pieces. I love these matte brown dinosaur prints. So they will go up as well.

All I need to finish off his room (aside from painting and actually putting it all together), are two more black out panels (I am trying to decide if I want them all navy, or if I want to put two brown ones in there). But he has like an entire wall of window, and I don't like that the panels I have up are stretched out flat when they are closed. I want a little more freedom with that lol. We are waiting for his double bed rails to arrive, and need to go mattress shopping together :)
Last night I made it my personal mission to catch up on all those annoying house chores (laundry, dishes). So as soon as we got home, I ordered in some dinner for us all, and put away two loads of laundry, and did two more. All done (except for having to change the bedding now), and put away all the dishes (Have I mentioned how much I miss my dishwasher????! put that under the "NEED" category in my life)
We all did our baths/showers and relaxed in bed, watching Hercules (the Disney movie), and G danced and sang along (he knows none of the words, but that didn't stop him from trying , lol!).
I also spent entirely too long on the phone with CRA, for the simplest question. When you get a good agent, they're really good. But when you get a bad one? ouch. She spent half of the 30 minutes on the phone typing--I'm not sure what she was even typing about?? lol And the other half putting me on hold to talk to her manager. Huh? I had a simple yes or no question. Finally, by the end I had my answer, my phone was burning hot from being held so long (lol) and I was so happy to hang up :)
Anyways, other than that, it was a very quiet Monday night! Tyler has another busy weekend ahead with the Backyard show, so we are trying to keep this week pretty low-key. We both feel like we need a relaxing night away alone before the baby comes, so we are trying to plan a "stay-cation" where we get a hotel room close by, go to something fun, do dinner, and just have a night or two away. Things have been hectic, to say the least, so I think we both really need this!
Hopefully everyone has a nice relaxing, peaceful Tuesday! :)
