Weekend Recap
I tried to upload pictures this morning before heading in, but it didn't work, so I'll just do a photo dump another time :)
Friday: Garett had a PJ/Movie day at daycare, so he picked out his monster PJ's and slippers and headed out for the day. They watched the movie "All creatures big and small" (never heard of it), but she said he cuddled up to everyone under a blanket, ate their snacks and enjoyed. It was also a beautiful day, so they got lots of outside time in :) Tyler was home early, and we did some stuff around the house, the boys put daddy's new springs on the truck, and grilled up some steaks and I made some baked potatoes, yellow beans and salad. Ty headed out to golf around 6pm. Him and three others were heading to the west-end to the indoor Golf-o-max. He was home around 10, so G and I had only 2 hours before bed alone together. So we played and watched some cartoons.
Saturday: Garett was up bright and early (like 6 am). We got dressed and got into the truck to head to Richmond. Ty had two quick estimates to do, and then we went out for brunch as a family and drove around a bit. We ended up replacing our truck that was stolen, since the season is up and running now. He settled on a Black 2016 F-250 xlt 6.7l diesel 4x4 with a crew cab. Really sharp looking. He is pretty excited. We bring it home on Tuesday or Wednesday (just waiting for the call since we got the bed lined with that heavy duty stuff, and an undercoating, and some new mats that all need to be put in).He has started building his new Ford black truck fleet haha. After the paperwork was all done, we were home to rest for a few minutes. Then I started getting ready for girls night. The boys headed out to go to best buy (Tyler needed to buy a new otter box for his phone, since he lost the belt clip part somewhere). I was gone by the time they got back--stopped in at the bank, metro and headed to Shannon's. A few girls headed over and we chatted, had some eats and winded up playing a few rounds of scattegories before we all split up for the evening. I headed home around 11. The boys had gone for a walk to the creek by our house, ordered in dinner and fell asleep together in bed. Tyler woke up before I got home and put G in his bed, and was suffering from some serious heart burn (we are quite a pair , lol), so he put on 1000 ways to die in the west. We only watched about 10 mins of it before shutting it off.
Sunday: Garett slept in until about 7:30 (thank you, bud! We needed that little extra sleep!). Once he was up, we all got dressed and headed out to try Lunasole for breakfast. I wanted to try it since it's close by and we are always looking for really good breakfast places. We will not be back. Service was good but the food was so-so and the atmosphere was not great (we don't like tables in the middle of the restaurant lol). Afterwards, Tyler dropped me off at my car. I went to do a big grocery trip, and the boys went to Tyler's yard to put a new filter in the skid steer. G steered the tractor around with Ty's help, and then used a big rake to rake out some gravel--he thought he was quite the little worker. So cute. They were home before me, and were watching Toto in concert in the basement when I got home, so I put everything away and made some lunch. I got to relax on the couch for a bit alone, catching up on Masterchef Canada before they came up together. We did some painting on paper while daddy painted the ensuite bathroom. Garett immediately needed a bath. Once he was done, he fell asleep on our bed watching tv, so we went downstairs to make dinner. Ty bbq'd some chicken breasts that I marinaded with a coconut curry sauce, so I made up some white rice and steamed broccoli with it. So yummy. We ate our dinner and watched some tv before we woke G-man up at 6:05. He got up and ate two bowls of dinner, then had a popsicle. We painted some more pictures together (he was really into the idea of painting yesterday). Afterwards, the boys went upstairs and played silently with lego for like an hour, so I opened all the windows more, and cleaned the kitchen a bit and started the newest episode of masterchef. Around 7:45, I shut it off and went upstairs with a big fruit plate. I cut up some cantaloupe, apples (and put a little caramel sauce in a bowl), red grapes and some clementines. We all sat on the bed watching tv and ate the entire plate. G played a little while longer and then he went to bed around 9:15. Tyler and I started Scandal (I had started on my own, but stopped because I knew he would love it--I was right.) We are on the fourth episode now, and it was hard for him to turn it off lol.
It was such a beautiful weekend! The weather was so nice, we spent so much time out and about, and had all the windows open. It was seriously my perfect idea of a weekend! A lot of time as a family, and a little time apart to do our own things! I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend, and celebrated the coming of the beautiful weather!!
