Paint Nite

As an extension of my "29 before 29" list, I wanted to try new things, take in new experiences, work to better myself as a person, and find more hobbies/things I excel at/hidden talents.

After visiting the palm reader, and hearing that I am a creative/artistic person, and have many "passions" in life, and am highly multi-faceted, I am on a quest to find these things. What are these mystery things I excel at, what can I work towards perfecting, and so on.

I have never considered myself to be an artistic person, but I haven't really ever thought of getting into anything artsy because I just assumed I was no good at it. I can't draw very well, or anything like that, but I have also never taken any steps to learn. Maybe my talents aren't natural, but need to be shaped and formed and perfected until I am talented.

I am lucky enough to work with a girl who is also heavy into these "to-do" lists, and is fairly open to trying anything on my lists as well. It's also nice to get to know someone again/make new friends. So after the palm reading, she is also feeling more motivated.

We have decided to sign up for a Paint Nite.
These are events where you either alone, or with a friend, or a group buy tickets to attend. You sit in long rows where everyone has a canvas, easel, cup of water, brushes needed, paints, apron, and a nice glass of wine. You sign up for the class according to date, location, skill level, and painting you want. We were shocked by how many events there were (like 4 or 5 daily), so we settled on one we liked that was centrally located to our houses (more on the one we chose later when I do my recap post).

To get an idea, tickets are about $50 a person (but everything is included), and they range in locations.

Also coming soon is a glassware class. I would love to have painted glassware instead, but they haven't started the classes yet--but if I enjoy this painting class, perhaps I will endeavour to take one of those when they start!

Here are a few pictures--an idea of what the event looks like, and a sample from the page where you book. If you're feeling artsy-fartsy , here is the link :)
