Weekend Recap
This weekend felt SO short. And with the busy week coming up, it felt even shorter! I just wanted to bask in nothingness all weekend, and failed to do so lol.
I have decided I need to take more pictures. I generally live in the moment--and this makes me a bad blogger. I don't see things, or do things and think I NEED A PICTURE OF THIS. I would rather take that moment in for another second with my own two eyes than look at it through my phone camera...I will work on it this problem lol.
Friday I left work a few minutes early (like 4 minutes early...which results in getting home 20 minutes faster than usual. Its crazy what 4 minutes can change when dealing with rush hour traffic). I picked up my little guy, and we headed home. Tyler was home early, so we poured a Somersby each and went outside. Garett played with the neighbour with the water table, the hose, a sprinkler ball, a soccer ball, etc for almost 2 hours. The neighbour brought his dinner over and sat at our patio table with us (this was a bit odd to me lol). So I made g a snack, and they sat there and ate together and Ty and I talked lol. When they were done eating, we came in (I think the kid wanted to be invited in, but we had to make supper lol). Ty bbq'd some chicken kabobs I made and I made some broccoli and rice to go with it.
We were in bed early! All that fresh air poops us out!
Saturday we were up with the birds. We loaded up anything we wanted to get rid of and Ty brought it to the dump. I love the dump runs, because the house feels so good after! lol Then he had to head into the store to do some welding under the new location. So G and I played a bit and it was his nap time before I knew it. Three hours later he woke up, I fed him lunch and Ty came home. We watched a movie and just relaxed for the night. I made some homemade burgers that I cooked in the cast iron skillet, and made a copycat Goat Cheese and Arugula salad that I had on our date night the other day.
Sunday we were up pretty early again. We got dressed and headed into town. We drove around for a bit looking for yard sales (this is where they find the best magic cards for the store), but there weren't really any happening yet (it was kind of damp out). So we decided to pop in and see our friend Shannon's new place (very nice, Shan ;) ). After that, we drove around a bit more, passed by a few, but didn't get out, and went out to eat. Garett is always quite the kid when we go out--people look at him with such love in their eyes, it's amazing. And he smiles and waves and they all think he's the greatest thing since sliced bread lol. He insisted on having mommy in one hand and dads hand in the other on the way out, and that got even more smiles. What a ham.
We headed over to Home Depot, picked out the toilet and tub for the basement bathroom so Ty could go back for it later, and bought the paint for our family room. Ty bought some new rollers and a new brush and we headed home. I thought G would nap, so we could start painting. He had other plans. He downright refused the nap, so we accomplished no painting. The afternoon turned into utter chaos. He was a little wild child lol. We cleaned up the house, snacked, and finally put on Fireman Sam (Garett's favourite) and he calmed down enough to eat some dinner (pasta for G and some nachos in the oven for us)...and allowed us all to bathe lol. He was in bed by 8:30. I went to sleep around 9:30 with Ty.
I got to work this morning, and it was almost like I was away for the past week. I don't understand what happens between 3 and 5 pm on Fridays where the world almost explodes, but things always get out of hand and then I get SO angry to see all of the work to do on Monday morning. UGH.
On the plus side, it's a 4 day week, and tomorrow after work I am doing the palm reading thing. In between though I have to do my shopping for girls weekend and get some meals made to put in the freezer for the boys. And the cleaning lady starts on Thursday! :)
Also, I woke up to a text from Rogers telling me I was somehow $50 over my data limit (this has NEVER happened before--I must have left it open for three days lol)...So I called and upgraded my plan to the next level and they credited it back to the beginning of my billing cycle. Insanity. Stupid data! lol
Anyways--that was my picture-less weekend for you! Hope everyone had a fun weekend and enjoyed all the rain and storms LOL
